I actually liked that feature in both directions.

A lot of folks seemed to like it, me included. Sadly, it was causing problems with the rest of the board. Because it was so popular, barts is looking for a way to bring it back when he returns from a filming assignment.

I think it actually has quite a bit of value on a site set up like this. With the option to like someone's posts, you can aknowledge/agree/appreciate the arguments of others without having to quote them&respond, or message them (both of which make you look like a highschool student brown nosing his teacher in return for intellectual aknowledgement). And as a site that prides itself on having a main goal of being populated by users that want to educate themselves, it is important for such people to have a simple, straightfoward means of measuring popular opinion.

I liked being able to agree with people and make my opinion known without having to post a response that simply said "I agree with you, good sir!"
Hopefully you guys can figure out how to bring it back without messing anything up!
But truth, Hajjaj was convinced, held many layers.

Yes - I liked it too. You could say 'Yes' without making a big thing of it, and it left you feeling less isolated.

I'd like to take this opportunity to inform those members who aren't aware...the "like" feature is working again and to please utilize it instead of making "like" posts in threads. Those can be disruptive. Unless a member has set their security measures so that you can't, you can always send a PM or chat to inform them of your appreciation.

Works for me, obviously. Hmmm...
Maybe the software knows you were just being kind and didn't really like that post.

I get the same message.
