    When did this...

...become a bash the right/Republican site? I realize that most members are leftists (of some flavor), but when you make topics like:

Persuading Republican Boneheads to Vote for Ron Paul
The Right's and the Republican's pursuit of ignorance
A Club of Liars, Demagogues and Ignoramuses

..are they really expected to be taken seriously? Why does one have to be insulted by a "debate" topic?

It's an opinion site. If the majority of posters were right wingers would you call it out for being a "left bashing" site? I doubt it.

I would ask, are the Republicans really expected to be taken seriously? They are the traditional party of, among other things, anti-science. Science, the systematic study of reality. To reject it in favor of your personal beliefs is to declare your thought-process irrational. You lose a lot of legitimacy that way.

In some cases, frankly insulting terms like "boneheads" and "ignoramuses" need not be used (shame on you, other posters). In others, it's just "I calls 'em as I sees 'em" in play, or provocative phrasing. I'd dislike that if I were in the minority, too, but...

And everyone's a demagogue, unless they craft their arguments not to appeal to anyone.

For a void without a question is just perverse.

The right is so outrageously out of contact with reality, so ignorant of history and economics, so scandalous in their lies and propaganda that they practically demand criticism.

Likely, the rules are interpreted to mean that you cannot insult a fellow member. Directing the insult at a third party, category of third parties, or an organization a fellow member may belong to is fine.

For a void without a question is just perverse.

I don't care if you post, just don't say something "is fine" when it's not directed towards you.

Because it's an opinion site. I've been given infractions for "insulting" people who endorse bombing innocent civilians. Suck it up.

I generally don't speak with any authority. I was giving my opinion on how I think the rules are interpreted, based on what I've seen.

If you'd like to "bash" the left/Democrats you're not only welcome, but also genuinely encouraged to start a thread. The issue I've had confront is the dearth of right/Republican commentary, these days, that is anything but embarrassing nonsense. It's so bad that many Republicans are not aware that Stephen Colbert is satire and comedy.

Most right/Republican commentators and writers produce material that does not survive even cursory scrutiny. That's not a fault of the left/Democrats, but of the right/Republicans.

There is no censorship on Volconvo regarding topics and respectful exchanges. If there is the lack, in your view, of a right/Republican voice it's entirely the fault of those who speak with that voice.

All that being said, I invite you, I implore you, to encourage all on the Right whom you know to come to Volconvo and bash, bash, bash. All they have to do is respect the rules.

Personally, I don't think you'll be able to rally too many, because too few can handle Volconvo's scrutiny.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd - Voltaire
