    Vote for the New Moderator

Vote now for the member you'd like to become part of the moderating team!

Following the procedures outlined here, the moderating team selected 4 potential candidates from 7 nominees. 2 potential candidates declined to be in the running. You, the members, will now elect the new moderator.

All votes are anonymous to other members. Don't try any funny business (such a registering a new account to vote twice) because we can and will find out. The voting period will end exactly 1 week from this posting.

    Good luck!

As of 4.50 p.m. GMT on 4 April, there remain only two candidates. I take it the third has dropped out. What happened to the votes that had been cast for him?

As it seems clear that she has won, as I voted for her myself (I don't believe in voting for yourself), and as I believe she will make excellent moderator, I will expedite the process of CruellaDeChaCha taking office by droping out of the race.

CruellaDeChaCha will, I suspect, be the first female moderator these forums have had, and that will be of symbolic and practical use. I remember previously her complaining of sexism here. Hopefully, this position will give her the wherewithal to root out such behavior, and with any luck that will cause this forum to be graced by more ladies and so be more colorful and diverse, and hence more conducive towards enlightenment.

I am honored to have been nominated, but would have been something of a controversial choice, as I hold forth enough that I am relatively disagreeable.

Yarn, I have to confess that I've been very moved by your deeply magnanimous gesture. I only hope that I can live up to the standards you've espoused here. At the moment though, I'm both very flattered and slightly embarrassed about the outcome, I thought every one on the original published list would have been a good choice.

I'm sure you would have made a good mod, Yarn. As will Cruella (till she starts kicking my ass, of course). Over the years I've often voiced the wish that there would be a greater feminine presence on Volconvo. Let's hope this opens the floodgates.
