You can always just edit it and delete everything. Deleting definitely shouldn't be available after a short amount of time.

You say it, you own it.

No. Backing out of something you said is ridiculous. If you want a post deleted, you can PM a mod if necessary.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

    Matt,
I guess you took what I said to mean that a person has the right to delete what they post?

I agree, if you post something you need to own up to it.

I agree with Lullaby (for a change)

if you double post, it's better for the user to just delete it rather then putting a [delete this] as an edit.

Lester: Boy, you need something else outside of this.
    McNulty: Like what?
Lester: A life, Jimmy. You know what that is? It's the stuff that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come.

The system doesn't allow for double posts, to my knowledge.

In order to ensure members can't edit/delete old posts to change their arguments within a debate, or tell mods "I never said that!" these features have been disabled after a certain time period.

    Sorry, fellas.

I've said more stuff at 3 am that I've wanted to tone down when I got up than I would have liked to. I sorely wish I had a button that would replace an especially dumb post with the message *stupidity redacted*. The redaction button would also archive it for the reasons Jason mentioned.

The more you complain, the less I care about your problems.

You can add another post and apologize, but it's not exactly fair to those who responded to you if suddenly your original posts changes, is it…
