Notice: Private Groups and Blogs are Not Immune to Rule Enforcement

To clarify Volconvo policy, private groups and blogs are not immune to rule enforcement by the moderating staff. We have adopted a much less aggressive stance in these two areas, and I cannot recall any instances where we have intervened in blogs. But, we will respond both there and in private groups if significant rule violations occur. Although moderators do not have private group access unless they are respective members, I do. And, they will always be able to read post reports along with the reported post's content.

From my past experiences with the policy on this site, I wouldn't be suprised if all of my previous posts were rejudged based on this change made after their post date.

There are thousands of forums where people meet to discuss things most have a commen goal, here it was once hot debate now the goal posts have been moved, A forum is only as good as content of the posts

Perhaps you all would be more satisfied if I decided not to clarify rules at all? I mean, that's typically what you ask for when you complain about infraction warnings and points. You typically claim you never knew, or that such policies have never been mentioned (even though the rules are very clear). Yet, when I try and do the community a favor (without even changing policy, just stating what the policy has always been), this is how you respond?

I think it's worth pointing out that private forums serve as quasi-democratic establishments at this site. Members must support a leader, who is then made responsible to promote and grow a group. If the group loses interest (either in the group or the leader), the forum is discontinued. There is also zero moderator interaction with the group; it is entirely self-sufficient.

You are a moderator. You and I both know that by "self sufficient," you meant capable of resolving their own disputes. There's simply no other way to interpret or contort what you said.
