Subscribed to threads in User CP

When I check my User CP I often have threads there listed that I had never subscribed to, or even posted in (as far as I can remember) for that matter. Is there an automatic subscription defalt of some sorts? How do I specifically keep these random threads from popping up in my User CP? I know I can click on the unsubscribe, but why should my User CP fill up like that if I had never went through the trouble of actually subscribing to them?

Or is it just something that happens to everyone and we just have to accept it?

I don`t think I have ever subscribe to any thread, so I am wondering if just posting in a thread some how triggers a subscription. ??? Are others seeing this as well in your User CPs?

In your user options you can configure your subscription settings. Also, it's possible to subscribe to an entire forum.
