Who's the bigger liar? Romney or Obama?

Of course, all politicians lie. But I wonder of the two liars vying for the Presidency which is the biggest liar? Not surprising, to me at least, Romney.

According to PolitiFact, Obama's lying to some extent about 29% of the time, with 2% of his campaign's claims ranking as Pants on Fire. As for Romney, he's lying about 43% of the time, with 9% of this campaign's claims ranking as Pants on Fire.

They all lie, but Romney is the biggest liar.

I think that Romney is simply a bigger liar because he's trying to please everyone and doesn't know exactly what HE even wants. Obama has a clear target audience: minorities, gays, and the middle class. He also has much less ties with the Democratic party enabling him to make and follow through on his own decisions.

Obama can more easily afford to be balanced in his facts because he is balanced in his policies. Someone arguing for extremes has to stretch and defy the truth more often because the fact is that the facts, being nuanced, tend to support a more balanced approach.

There's another factor here, perhaps. Obama and his policies have been scrutinized and tested for almost 6 years now, ever since he declared his candidacy for the Presidency. There's not much that's not known about him. So, there's not much he could lie about and not get found out.

Romney is only now going under the Presidency microscope and, I suspect, he and his staff still believe he can get away with falsehoods and coverups about his personal past and political record. Moreover, it's one thing to be comfortably cocooned in the Great Right Wing Lying Machine when running for the Republican nomination, but out in the real world where every utterance is checked and rechecked, and the oppo research teams are looking at every detail, getting caught in lies is almost assured.

Also, Romney has been running for president for pretty much the entire time he has been in the public eye and subject to politifact's scrutiny. Obama in contrast got factchecked during a lot of years during which he was not imminently up for re-elected. Perhaps people are more dishonest during campaign season than off of it.

Well the only HUGE problem I see with this is that Obama is the President of the United States. So I guess we will just have to use Obama as our model now and say that presidents from now on can lie 30% of the time. Okie dokie.

Oh....by the way, how many lies has Obama told versus Romney? Your percentage means nothing without all the facts. But that's okay, people can look up Obamas lies at politfact and do there own comparing.
