    Twit Romney Goes to London

In my view, Mitt Romney like Sarah Palin before him, has demonstrated he's not fit to be the President of the United States. His recent silliness in London has shown him to be incapable of functioning as a competent human being beyond the narrow, and frankly stupid, base of the Republican Party's faithful. If at this stage of his life, the Twit is unable to open his mouth without putting both feet in it it is certain that he will not be able to serve his country beyond its borders.

So irrational, indeed insane, is the Republican Party that outside of the US its leaders are unable to function. They are truly buffoons, clowns who have no place the world stage.

The UK is having all the problems he mentioned. Lol. So basically, he tactlessly told the truth, and then in typical Romney fashion did a 180 degree lie that satisfied no one.

Well, he could probably square things by promising to replace the bust of Winston Churchill which President Obama removed, and promise not to send the Queen of England a gift consisting of a video of his speeches which were not even configured to UK recorders- as did the president.

Yeah- maybe calling Milliband Mr. Leader was not correct. But at least Romney does not apologize for his lack of ability to speak Austrian

The whole trip is stupid. But hey- gift of his greatest videos- which

The Winston Churchill bust was loaned to Bush, not given to the white house.

Fair point about giving out videos that aren't compatible though.

What Romney has shown is that he is a buffoon on the world stage. That other American leaders have also demonstrated the lack of ability to function as responsible informed people beyond America's shores is not an excuse. It's not diplomatic rocket science to appreciate that a putative representative of the American people--and a possible future President--does not visit a trusted ally and shit on their Olympic presentation a few days before the opening ceremonies. As I say, Romney seems to be an idiot. Let's be thankful he didn't offer to drive the Queen's corgis to Scotland on the top of his limousine.

I wonder how this will affect the British vote.

EDIT: That was a joke, for those of us who are more dense than others.

Yeah, that was pretty funny--the misconfigured DVD present to the Queen. Obama took quite a ribbing from the British press as well. And the Austrian comment--the issue wasn't an apology for not speaking Austrian, it was the non-existence of Austrian as a language (Austrian is a German dialect like Swiss German).

However what you and Faux News fail to mention when using the schoolyard "He did it too!" argument was that Obama didn't offend his hosts. He made them laugh and rib and raise eyebrows, sure, but he didn't get a new nickname and wholesale ridicule from everyone including his erstwhile allies. The Conservative Prime Minister's crack at Mitt's Olympic experience in a "nowhere" town was priceless.

Mittens was making his first foray onto the world stage and on Day One he becomes Mitt the Twit. Worse, he did so on the eve of the Olympic Games, an event he owns in a political sense.

When Karl Rove says of the gaffe "you have to shake your head" you know Mittens should just stay home and play polo or something.

Karl Rove may be a bastard but he's far from unintelligent.

And are we to presume that you also fit into this twit category, since you don't seem to know the difference between 'with' and 'without'?

Does "you didn't build that" also qualify obama as being a buffoon and clown, insane??

Gonna vote Labour anyways. I really wan't to see how the American right reacts to the son of a Marxist Jew being the leader of their closest friend.

No, because he was referring to American infrastructure, and whether or not business owners personally build roads, bridges, etc. etc. - or whether they rely on federal and state government, and other American workers, in order to provide the resources and infrastructure they need to succeed.

The quote the Romney campaign and associated SuperPacs are using is taken out of context. In contrast, some of the dumb things Romney has said only get worse when you know the context.
