So what the fuck is up with Fifa?

So what the fuck is up with Fifa?
You know, Paul, Reagan proved that deficits don't matter. We won the mid-term elections, this is our due. : Dick Cheney
Yeah, who knows.. typical bullshit. Truth be told I couldn’t care less who bribes who and what happens with those guys as they squabble over the presidency…. Blatter seems to be the evil Emperor, and woe be to all that oppose him.

True, but the world cup in Qatar? Thats just stupid. It should go to an African nation, or somewhere in the far East, maybe India or somewhere. Would be a much better tournament.
But screw the fans, its all about how much money they can make. Thats not what Fifa is there for, they are there for the good of the fans. Or meant to be.

The Qatar Cup will be fascinating to see unfold. I really like the designs for their venues, and you certainly don't need to worry about crime like they were in South Africa. Of course it will be hotter than hell when they play, but meh.... I'll be watching from the comfort of my living room...
As far as Asia.. I think the Japan / Korea tag team was the first time the Cup was in Asia... ( I could be wrong). Not sure why that is... although could India really pull it off? I guess Qatar will be second.... We shall see.... and by then the US will be ready to win it. ( thats right)

I thought you were mental, then you just confirmed it lol.
The Qatar games will be awful, no atmosphere in the country, no point in a country that small hosting by themselves.
India could easily pull it off, they already hosted the cricket world cup. They can do football too. Would spread the game too. Thats the point init I thought.

It was a fix, plain and simple. I think thats basically what Bin Hammam is getting investigated for. The chief football writer with Sports Illustrated was on the radio the other day and speculated that Bin Hammam dropped out of the presidential race in some sort of a deal, either to avoid getting severly punished for buying the qatar world cup or to ensure that qatar kept the competition.
Its only speculation but I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if it was accurate.
It was such a horribly cringe-inducing moment..
England's problem is one of self-delusion. It probably would have been better had they never won the world cup.
The hyping up of players like rooney and lampard doesn't do england any good. Some commentator actually compared rooney to messi the other night. They're not even on the same bloody planet!
Not only does their team lack the quality of their rivals (not to say the england team is that bad) but they don't seem to have any real philosophy how to play. It seems to amount to stick your best 11 on the pitch and see what happens.
Argentina did a similar thing in the last world cup but when both they and england faced the germans - a team with absolutely ruthless counter attacking - they got caught out.
It's probably for the best that neither had to endure playing against spain.

A few things...
Dodds is probably right.. the Qatar games will be a strange affair.. especially if any gay people show up.. ( thats a call back to Blatter).
Dunno if it was a buy-off, but allegations of "greasing" sure seem to crop up regularly with these guys... smoke probably = fire.
And as far as the New York Post cover with the US v England match.. a few things to keep in mind.. The NY Post is pretty much a rag newspaper.. barely a step up from the National Enquirer, so most of the headlines they put on there are a bit sensational and goofy. There is probably not a single reporter on staff that has ever watched even a kids soccer game all the way through, let alone a professional match... so I would take the cover for what it is... a silly headline on a goofy paper. Actually the England match was really hyped here in the US... felt terrible for Green.
and Grogy hits the nail on the head again.. Until England works out an actual philosophy of play, they will never be more than 11 individuals running around the pitch.. Yes they will generate goals, but will never stand a chance against a fluid machine like Spain or Germany. Brazil seem to have fallen into a "group of individuals" a bit as well... its just that those individuals are so amazingly strong that they can compensate until they gel again. The United States is still trying to come up with 11 quality individuals... a philosophy is still a ways off.
I saw Freddy Adu got called up for the US v Spain match.. will be interesting to see if he sees time.
Wow, check this article out.... I can only imagine the complete nonsense that goes on behind closed doors with these guys... The last few paragraphs are the most damning.
FIFA's senior vice-president, Julio Grondona, has accused England of "always complaining" and said he voted for Qatar for 2022 because "a vote for the US would be like a vote for England".
Reports had been published in the English press accusing FIFA of corruption ahead of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup votes, and former FA chairman Lord Triesman made a series of accusations against four FIFA executive members last month.
Current FA chairman David Bernstein has most recently led a bid to delay the FIFA presidential elections in which Sepp Blatter stands unopposed in the wake of the current crisis.
Grondona, president of the Argentinian FA and head of FIFA's finance committee, said: "We always have attacks from England which are mostly lies with the support of journalism which is more busy lying than telling the truth. This upsets and disturbs the FIFA family.
"To present such a project as David Bernstein presented is like shooting a penalty because it cannot be always from the same place that the insults and problems come from.
"I see it at every Congress. They have specific privileges with four countries having one vice-president. I don't know what our president has said, but we have seen the World Cup go around the world, to South America and Africa and it looks like this country does not like it.
"It looks like England is always complaining so please I say will you leave the FIFA family alone, and when you speak, speak with truth."
In an interview with a German press agency on Tuesday, Grondona called England "pirates" and added: "Yes, I voted for Qatar, because a vote for the US would be like a vote for England, and that is not possible.
"But with the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left."

Julio Grondona is the tyrant of Argentinian football. He's been the head of their FA for something like 30 years. As is obvious from the article he's a total shitebag.
One thing I admire Maradona for is going against him. He's being fighting him since he was a player and I think he's started a fresh campaign against him recently.
Here's another little gem of his:
"I do not believe a Jew can ever be a referee at this level. It's hard work and, you know, Jews don't like hard work."
They're possibly starting to turn away from that. Their players were so good in 2002 that it won them the world cup despite no really coherent system. Such was the quality of the likes of kaka, ronaldinho, ronaldo etc that they could effortlessly play together.
Their team under Dunga had a kind of strategy but it was too defensive for the brazilian people - they hated dunga (a world cup winning captain) as it was.
Their current team is based upon solid defence and lethal counter attacking, as well as mandatory brilliance on tap when required and it has Liverpool's future captain Lucas Leiva in the middle of it, breaking up attacks and getting them started for his own team.
You could care less could you?
