Mad Max 4: Fury Road gets green light

Mad Max 4: Fury Road gets green light; Sam Worthington tipped to star | Movies | News.com.au

THE original Mad Max put the Australian film industry on the map and launched the career of one of our most recognised actors, Mel Gibson.

Thirty years on and Mad Max 4: Fury Road is about to restart the local movie industry, being filmed entirely in Sydney and Outback NSW.

The Daily Telegraph reports that work on the film will start immediately, injecting tens of millions of dollars into the economy and creating more than 500 jobs.

There has been no confirmation yet of who will play the role of the Road Warrior but rumours abound it will be Australian Terminator: Salvation star Sam Worthington, with Charlize Theron to co-star..........
Just when you thought all the old movies have all been redone.....

Oh well.... I'm looking forward to it.... but if it's Mad Max 4 Wouldn't it make sense to keep using Gibson in the story rather then continuing the story with a totally different actor?

Normally one uses a totally different actor if they're redoing the entire story or there's a quick timeline shift between stories..... I'm sure it'll be a good movie, but switching up the actors on a continuation of the original story kinda thorws me off a bit..... I know it bugged me with the Terminator series.

Destined to be a love it or hate movie, like the new Star Trek with the all new original crew.

The premise of the original was a good one. They fortunately ignored the all too familiar heavy handed, paternalistic browbeating of the “why” society got the point the movie used as a background (think Knowing or the recent Day the Earth Stood Still) and simply got on with the entertaining :moment” they created.

Let see what happens this time.

The tree of liberty is hungry. Let's feed it well in the next election.
