Last Sunday we had a flag/tackle football game between stations, and being the weekend warrior that I am, I guess I went one way when I should have gone another. During the game I thought I had been kicked in the heel, so I took my shoe off looking for an abrasion of some kind. When I took the shoe off the pain really set in, but I didn’t see anything. I thought I just tweaked my ankle bad and soaked it when I got home. Monday morning getting out of bed I realized it was more than just a tweak. I then noticed a large depression on the back and side of my heel. Long story short, I ruptured my Achilles.
So I’m wearing a boot, with surgery on the 6th. Then recouping time. My questions are:
Anyone here ever have the surgery? If so, what kind of recoup time did it take? The surgeon won’t give me anything concrete. The net is kind of all over the place in diagnosis also. What can you do and not do while recouping, or how does it limit you? Will my wife end up kicking me out to the guest room?
