I don't watch NBA basketball games, because they're freak shows. The world's tallest people running around dropping balls in hoops. Where's the skill in a 7 footer doing a slam dunk?
I propose a rule change which would get me watching the NBA.
NEW RULE: At no time can the aggregate hieght of an NBA team exceed 30 feet.
With this rule, if a team wants to field two 7 foot players, they will have to have shorter players to meet the 30 foot rule. Maybe some dwarfs and midgets will find work in the NBA.
This rule will open up NBA basketball to a much broader group of players--those of normal height. (Yes, I know there are a few shorter players, but generally the tallest team wins.)
I would also have a rule for American football. The combined weight of team cannot exceed (11x165 lbs) or 1,815 lbs. Now skill matters and not mobile "Refrigerators."
With these rule changes the "freak" will be taken out of basketball and football.
Other sports such as boxing have classes based on physical size, why not basketball and football-American style?
