| Sedimentary Rock Posts: 1 | Immigration reform I was just really getting information on a debate and would like to ask these questions. Supposing that we give the undocumented immigrants legal status: Would they be eligible for welfare? Would they have to be paid minimum wage? Do they have to pay the United States taxes while they are legally here? Personally, I believe the whole idea to be stupid and a waste of time. It's not going to solve anything at all and merely hurt our economy in the long run. |

As soon as they have legal status and demand to make more, the employers are just going to fire them all and hire more illegals because THEY WORK CHEAPER! Sheesh, are these people so stupid they don't realize the only reason they have jobs is because they don't make much? |

I vote that from here on out, no new immigrants will ever be eligible for any form of welfare. That should take away the majority of the incentive that people even come here in the first place. Let them go to Europe instead. They'll gladly raise taxes to 99% so that no one ever has to work over there. Quote:

The reason a lot of the "illegal advocates" give for wanting to legalize them is so that they can make a fair wage and not be "abused". The second they're legal, they're all going to get fired and become an even bigger drain on the taxpayer. Gee, this sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? | |
