However the most interesting meanings to me are, completeness, wholeness, and unimpaired condition; soundness. Democracy has a more eastern origin, than present western thought. Athens, evolved democracy and developed the linear thinking that became western logic. In the East logic is wholistic and cyclical. The idea of what we do undo another, is what we do to Jesus, is wholistic logic. Democracy is wholistic, as it is one for all, and all for one. All are equal under the law, which is universal law. The understanding of integrity as being completeness and wholeness, and unimpaired condition; soundness, is a basic principle of democracy. We can not harm another without harming the whole, and this is destructive, undermining the soundness of our whole culture/nation. Where does torture start or who is to "blame" for the US now being known as a society that condons torture? Who is to "blame" for school shootings? Where did the damage begin? What undermined the soundness of our culture? What can you say to a gay, without it being a level of condoning torture? What happens when we condon hurting each other?
