| Igneous Magma Location: United States, CST Posts: 392 | I'm playing with you, kid. It's plain fun talking on message boards, at a very elemental level. I stated that the differences are overstated and overrated. I will stand next to you and salute to the proposition that differences exist. I prefer two sexes, and I am generally in favor of exploring the possibilities, within reason, for the liberated (masculine) yet feminine female and the liberated (feminine) yet masculine male, both in touch with their yin or their yang, depending on the context. I have enjoyed posting in this forum, which does seem to be chock full of some not-so-liberated men. lol. ![]() |

And for women to dismiss this is to ignore very important information in their battle for equal status in society. I'd prefer a quote from my words followed by your interpretation of what those words mean, just so we can be clear about what it is we are disagreeing about. Then, go for it, use the medium, to illuminate, educate, and bring on the future. |

And therein lays the reason for the unequal status of women in society. Starboy There is plenty of chest thumping by the boys allowed for by society but not nearly enough of the same allowed for the girls. Last edited by Starboy; Jan 1, 2005 at 04:04 pm.

| Igneous Magma Location: United States, CST Posts: 392 | Well done. So, that brings us back to square one. What are the differences? How are they understated and underrated ... and how does the act of understating and underating the differences lead to unequal status of women in society? And, btw, what does "unequal" mean? |

| Igneous Magma Location: United States, CST Posts: 392 | whoa. That kinda reminds me of Ford Motor Company, when it was dealing with all the blowing up engines in those Pintos ... giving the injured people's lawyers access to the whole storage shed of files, ... maybe the smoking gun was in there somewhere, but Ford wasn't going to bring it out, polish it off and hand it to anyone. So, I sit at your feet, scientist guy. Bring on one of your articles, and let's talk some turkey. If you want to change the world, you need bring the obscure yet explainable insights to the common woMan. lol |

But *yikes*, I have been reading the literature from various sources for over thirty five years and have not exactly been keeping a file for the defence of women. But I will start one and hope to have it available for the next woman with a chip on her shoulder that doesn't exactly know why. In any case I will give you the advice that I give my daughters. We are all responsible for our own educations, so hop to it. Starboy |

| Igneous Magma Location: United States, CST Posts: 392 | I'm guessing one among this group of highly intelligent folk will have *something* to offer, and it might even be in this thread, which has some considerable weight to it. Perhaps even you, when you are feeling strong, will be able to rise to the challenge. :) So, which football game are you watching? We're watching Iowa vs. LSU ... I've got my money on LSU. |

| Igneous Magma Location: United States, CST Posts: 392 | yup, and LSU just made an extraordinary touchdown, ... followed by another Iowa extraordinary touchdown. No calling that game. There's a winner, but what a game! Iowa pulled it out, with 15 seconds to go. BTW, women are reporting from the sidelines but they haven't made it to the box yet ... is that because of the biological differences between men and women or because of societal expectations about who can talk smarter and faster? lol |

You can't change that. I really don't understand the huge push for ultra equality. I do understand paying a man and woman an equal amount of money for doing the same job *if* they can do an equally good job. That just seems like common sense. But there are simply some things that men are better at and some that women are better out. Title IX is a perfect example of the feminist agende gone too far.

| Molten Ash Posts: 103 | An interesting thing i came across once said that quite clearly a man's brain is larger than that of a woman. But it went on to say that there is a certain chemical in a woman's brain that makes there's work a lot more efficiently. Interesting i thought but does not answer this arguement. I'll enjoy watching it progess |

| Igneous Magma Location: United States, CST Posts: 392 | hi, bloodeagle. The size of brain, reminds me of other size comparisons I heard about, reading up on Title IX, locker rooms, and all that. Did you see Jerry McGuire? I loved the scene where there's this women sportscaster reporting live from the men's locker room, after the Big game. LOL. |

| Molten Ash Posts: 103 | me thinks that this debate is unresolvable and although lots of fun to watch is somewhat irrelevant. My own feeling make me think that without each other we could not survive and could not have becomes what we have become. Both sexes have ruled the other in a sense. Men more recently seemed to be the big boss whereas many generations ago the woman was always the revered figure. Together we make human kind. powerful, intelligent and with a lot of untapped potential if only we as a race could grow up. Divided by sex, race, age or any other petty arguement makes us weaker and stops us reaching our true potential.... and who knows.. maybe one day we will acheive it.. i for one plan to stick around to find out haha |
