I find it harder to find smart woman than smart men (though both are taxing).

Are Females Smarter Than Males?

Sorry I don't like this question. Men and women are not competing species. We cannot live without each other. We are created not to compete, but to complement.
Therefore by definition men and women would have superiour abilities in different areas.
I don't see many self made millionares/billionares or innovative scientists among women and no amount of feminist propaganda would change this fact. Because this is not what a normal woman is good at. Does it mean that women are somehow inferiour? In this respect - yes, however, all these successful men love, cherish and protect their women and this is what success is to a normal woman. To be loved and adored by a man.

Of course all this only is applicable to normal men and women. So what sort a woman would forgo love in order to enter competition with men? Clearly a manlike woman, in short either actual or latent lesbian or some other pervert.

It is very sad that modern society has no means of distinguishing a pathology from the norm and allows these mistakes of nature to pollute brains of normal women and men ( which unfortunately prone to be polluted).

One last thought regarding feminism. When someone is attempting to replace natural co-operation with unnatural competition, she is called provocateur. Clearly a provocateur has anything but good of those she provokes at heart.

I think guys get a head start in the engineering area since they get to play with toys like legos when they are young. Building activities that require thinking in order to construct something plausible to the eye.. All girls usually get are dollies. :p

Sin is salvation. Without "sin" there wouldn't be a concept for "purity" and without a concept of "purity" one wouldn't be able to enter "heaven."

Before I enter what looks like a fascinating discussion, I am kinda curious what a normal woman is, and what she is good at.

Thanks in advance.

The Normal Woman

It's hard to answer an unaswerable question. But I'll give it a try.

A normal woman is known in contrast to an abnormal woman.

One approach to the definition appears in this bit of literary criticism:

Quote:
we know the name of the narrator's husband (John), but not her own. She is nearly anonymous; her identity is John's wife. This power imbalance extends to other areas of their relationship. John dominates her, albeit in an ultimately patronizing manner. His strong, practical, and stereotypically masculine nature is skeptical of her seemingly weak, "feminine" disorder (as neurasthenia and other mental illnesses were often categorized), and he, not she, diagnoses her problem and prescribes the cure. When he tells her to exercise self-control over her irritation with him, the effect is ironic; he controls nearly everything about her, and even makes her feel ungrateful for not valuing his help enough.

So, part of the answer suggested by this essay is that a normal woman doesn't have neurasthenia and is grateful for her husbands help in diagnosing and suggesting a cure for it.

To assume that across the board men or women would be smarter then the other would on the face of it appear to be a silly assumption. A more edifying question would be to ask which sex is smarter than the other at specific tasks. Nature prefers division of labor.

Kate, you're selling yourself short. Women as a group are much better than men at all sorts of things. And it is interesting that many of them can be identitifed with what would be needed by the sex that gave birth and raised the young.

what makes you think I'm a woman (1) or that I'm selling myself short (2)

For most purposes, the distinctions are artificial and overrated, with underlining and emphasis to ensure the status quo remains ante.

Sorry, I assumed incorrectly. Unless you are a male with a female name then it sounds like you are trying to deliberately deceive.

As for the differences being overrated I think you have a lot to learn. Go get an education.

got one, thanks. :)

Oh, yes, Kate is a female name. A proper assumption, that.

About me setting out to sell myself short, ... hmmm. I'm not real good at that. Need some lessons. Usually the weaker sex will just throw up his hands in exasperation.

Some of us are incorrigible, opinionated, and educated.

Dangerous combination.

You call yourself the weaker sex not I. And yes women as a group are weaker at some things and stronger than men at others. And if you are incorrigible and opinionated then good for you but in my opinion your comments don't appear to be all that well educated.

Starboy

Now I will agree with you that society has often selected which traits it values more than others and these traits have been chosen by the men so they favor a classification of the men as being in some way better than the women, but these criterions are far from fair or honest and they are definitely not scientific. Incidentally most of them are sanctioned if not originating from supernatural religion.

We agree on one thing, in the sense that my opinion of your comments almost mirrors your opinion of my comments, when it comes to the "unprovable" propositions.

Cheers. :)

Sorry, it should have read:

most societal biases against women

are sanctioned

when they do not originate from supernatural religion

...

is that what you mean?

if so, what happens to the biases that *are* sanctioned by supernatural religion? (in your humble opinion, in your educated judgment, or just blowing it out your rear, ... dunnit matter which way, but you could let me know which piece of your brain you have chosen to use ... in response )

Hey, are you bent out of shape because I suggested that you get educated? I am aware of the systematic biases against women in society. I just don’t think that the way women should address these is to insist that they are somehow exactly the same as men because *gee* they are not. Even so this doesn’t mean that in some sense they are better or worse than men. But rather than insisting that the sexes are the same it would behoove women to find out where they are better than men and were they are not. Even so, natural variation in humans are always greater than any differences attributable to sex or race. But women are not going to win a respected and equal place in society if they do not address the differences and force the men to acknowledge the benefits and contributions unique to those differences made by the women. It should be a dance of the sexes not a lame attempt to smash the sexes into one sex.
