IMO: the desire to impress the girl balances the equation.
I'm sure if what he was actually fantasising about was also in the same classroom, the ability to focus properly on the subject being taught at times would be nearly impossible.
Most lads prefer to use phsyical means to impress a chick Wyrm not educational ones.

That's the same kind of thinking that invented the burka, Fallen Angel.

. . . whenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such forms as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

personally I dont think either males nor females are the smarter of the species.

I think our deferences are more involved in physical make-up, and emotional tendencies.

just like everything, there are smart girls and dumb girls. smart guys, and dumb guys. also when you look at statistics from high schools showing that girls get better grades than boys it begs the question: how 'smart' is a girl who gets 100% in all her courses? just because she's learned to memorize all the formulae and all the quotes, she could still have no common sense. i know many girls who did better than me in high school, but are dumber than a bag of bricks. i guess my point is that school marks are a poor indication of intelligence.

agreed. in my phil + ethics class the lasses on when end of the room would be able to give you the facts and figures of the books, but ask them to expand on it and you knew they didn't actually understand the theories. The other side of the room, my side, could talk about the theories for days if you wanted, but you couldn't expect us to quote who said what and in what book off the top of our heads.

can't really compare lads and lasses here though, it was me and 15 lasses. not as good as it sounds, all but one were ugly, and the exception was lesbian, and a friend to boot.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

Are females smarter than males?

As far as I am concerned, the only answer is that there is no answer! Measurement of intelligent is subjective and it's not possible to quantify and compare.

Oh it is possible, maybe beyond our current capability, but be careful with the word "impossible" few things actually qualify...

i don't care who's smarter. all i need to know is that i am personally smarter that some people, and i know the other lot of people are all smarter than i am.

i don't like debating about topics like this..

you hear on the news about how terrible some people are. male or female.

rape, homicide, beatings, all different kinds of disturbing acts that take some pure stupidity to do, are commited by both sexes.. (i dunno.. maybe not a chick raping a guy? haha)

just my opinion on this stuff.

Since you have no statistics to debate mine, must you resort to calling me a liar?
When you take the liberty of putting words into my mouth, I don't care to debate with you further - you've already proved your low worth as a debater. (Hopefully won't) See you around. :)

Most lads mature slower than lasses. I noticed this at GCSE (16 for none UK'rs), while all the lasses were hard revising and worrying, most of the lads couldn't care less. This was less the case at A-level (18), but still the lasses seemed under more pressure. I don't know if its different at Uni as I'm only about to start 2 weeks from now.
I agree with this
I finished GCSE Last year and am starting As this year (woo)
Agree, it seems to be the girls under thge pressure, but is that a sign of inteligence or a sign of how suseptable yteenage girls are to the thoughts of others? I would imagine its a bit of both. What I found at school however was that the very top people were boys, then there was a large wad of girls and then the boys were at the bottom again. Boys eem to be extremist, being both the best and the worst.

From what Ive heared, through GCSE and A-level, Girls tend to outshine boys, but at university Boys often do better. who knows why.

Ultimatly (I know this sounds good having just contributed to the argument) I get quite fed up with this Girls vs boys argument. Does it really matter? Maybe girls are better? so sodding what, we are a bisexual species and our society would almost certainly collapse without one gender.

Actually it wouldnt bother me if women took over the world, they can rule, they can go out and fight, they can be the ones who always loose out in a split, they can be the ones who have be careful over every word they say incase it MIGHT be considered prejadice, they can be the ones who are expected to fend for themselves, they can be the ones who get called poofs for being emotional, they can be the poloticions responsible for misery. You go girls!

Fear is your only god.

No that isnt part of the feminist Utopia, sorry, we will still be doing all the dirty stuff, probably more if they ruled the world.
To be honest I don't think chicks in general are really that much interested in ruling the world, and shock horror to all the little feminasties out there, what interests most of them is becoming a mother.

"All the dirty stuff"???? Like changing diapers and sorting laundry and sweeping and scrubbing and....

I think women do their fair share of "dirty stuff", always have and always will. As far as ruling the world...most females, by nature, do not see the world as something to rule they just want to manage it equitably. Feminism and Motherhood go hand in hand. They are not opposites--You do not seem to have an understanding of Feminism. Feminism is not about hating men or oppressing them, it is about working side by side on equal but separate terms. Sure, there are some feminist extremists but every movement has its extremes.

Many women have died and will die for their countries, just as some men change diapers. Population problems are a whole other debate.

Not to mention that it was the military that wouldn't allow women to enlist. Lucky bastards.

Please Fedfem, your talking about a stereotype of woman that was around in your mothers generation, of course I'm guessing your in your early twenties.
If you think doing the laundry and changing diapers is dirty stuff try working on a construction site getting choked by cement dust or up to your elbows in blood and guts in an abbotair like I have.
Hav'ent seen too many women in the past working along side of me in the worlds biggest industry(building) wonder why that is.
Most Feminists I have had the misfortune to run into, are usually nothing but the flipside to the male chauvinist, who was lauded into oblivion at the end of the eighties.
One of my sisters hit this silly extreme once for a while, she's slowly coming back to reality I hope, I asked her once if she could iron my shirt, because I'm hopeless at ironing shirts, she went off on a tirade of noble feminist empowerment, saying she was'nt my domestic slave, quite forgetting until I reminded her, of all the help I had given her with the car that morning.

I am double your guess, Fallen. I am of the generation you speak of being my mother's. I do agree with you that there are not many women in the construction labor industry, but there are some. There are several female Architects and engineers on the sites however.(which would follow the article premise) As I said before, as individuals the roles are switched quite often. I also agree there is extremism in both camps, so I won't debate that. It is too bad the feminists you have met have left you with a bad taste. In many ways a feminist woman can take some of the traditional pressure off a man including the financial burdens of the past.

Yes, but it doesnt take a feminist woman to do that, the Ancient Romans handed alot of their household and public dealings in finance over to their wives, there were no feminists around then were there?
Sorry for misguessing your age, you sound younger.

Feminists have existed since the beginning of time. Do some research on Hypatia(just google the name). Perhaps we are working with different interpretations of what feminism is. Later I will begin a topic on Feminsm, I would love to hear your reasoning for thinking it is a bad thing.
