De-humanization on E-Bay

I was looking at Ebay a minite ago for an electric sitar.
Looking at the item description, everything seemed fine until I stumbled upon this statement:

"This was made in the USA by real human beings - not laborers in a third world sweat shop."

Check it out here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Jerry-Jones-Elec...QQcmdZViewItem

Now, maybe it was a Freudian slip, but that's not the point.
The point is this: Why are so many so quick to dismiss the poor and sweatshop workers as subhuman? How deep does this institutional de-humanization go?

Grandp ah.

Probably just someone from a union who greatly resents the influx of cheap labor goods into our country. Actually, I am getting concerned about it myself the continuing trend of exporting manufacturing form this country will eventually bankrupt all of us.

I agree with you Grandpa, that it was a poorly worded expression.

I think it's not so much a matter of "exporting" jobs, as much as simply destroying the manufactuting sector here which naturally means manufactured products come from elsewhere.

not exactly worded well, but it may have been that they wanted people to know that they don't support sweat shops by buying products from them.

That's what I'm hoping, but I'm wondering what it means if it is a Freudian slip.
