The people of Germany were some of the most educated in the world, didn't stop them from falling to Adolf's clutches.

The people of China were cultured and the elite were educated....didn't stop Mao from wiping out 30 million of them.

Sorry, but emotional hype is stronger than the power of logic (this is why Communist rallies often use hynotising chants and slogans, ie "Death to America! Say NO to American products"!).

Our university is boycotting American products (except Microsoft, because its more convenient for the hippies to use Windows than Apple). Well, "selective boycotting" of American products. Just the stuff we don't need.

Ideological loyalty is the act of giving your soul to a vague concept, to be manipulated by people smarter than you.

The people of Germany were the most educated in the world? How do you know this except from assumption? Yes they were literate, but if they were anything like Britain pre-1945 education was about preparing people for jobs and indoctrination of the countries glories, not for analysing politics.

I hate this resurgent view that protests are just mobs whipped up by a few agitators. What do you think the Civil Rights movement in the US was? Was that just a rowdy mob? No. They all knew what they were doing. I don't know how they had the strength to hold back from fighting when crowds of white people were attacking them, when they were setting dogs on them, when they were losing friends. How about the suffrage movement for women? The Jarrow March? You can't have normal march 250 miles across a country if they don't know what they are doing, no demagogue or agitator can do that.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
Winston Churchill
