Well, the bottom one objectifies my gender and sets several standard beyond what I am likely to obtain, but at least males look good in it.
The top one isn't a very flattering way to show an older woman, and I'm not sure what it's trying to do. I'd say it's more offensive...
The more you complain, the less I care about your problems.

I don't find either offensive in the least. Why would either one offend me?

What is thought to be offensive about these ads, in particular? Personally, I find almost all ads offensive because they are essentially lies manufactured to sell products most people "need" only because they've been propagandized into thinking they do so.

Honestly, I'm more offended by this thread than by either of the pictures.

Who said any of the ads claimed anyone "needed" the products? I think ads insinuate you really want the product or should want the product Id think I've seen any recently that said I need it. I think some lie but many don't, osme just mislead others are pretty true. I don't find either of the posts offensive although I do have to say I'd much rather look at the hot guy with tattoos :)
Saving the empovershed by empoverishing their counterparts will empoverish the whole.

How is it any different than anything else? You've been propagandized into thinking vegan diets are the only moral choice in the world. You've been "sold" on it - people have "advertised" that it is ecologically friendly, and that you "need" to do it for some reason or another. You think you're so above capitalism, but you've bought into the market of ideas with vigor surpassed only by the greediest of material capitalists.
Just saying, barts. Advertising isn't offensive. If people are dumb enough to fall for it, then that's their problem. People exist to be taken advantage of, no matter what system of economics you fall into.

Quick question: Say I love KFC and really love their 2 piece xtra crispy dinner. Say an add comes on that the 2 piece xtra crispy chicken dinner is on sale for $1.00 less this month. Why would I be offended by such an add for something I clearly would like and at a price I'd obviously love?

I'm a bit baffled. The male is younger and presumably more attractive, and both photographs tend to draw attention to the genital area. I'm not especially interested in either, and suppose the female one must be aiming at a very specialist audience. Neither would help sell me anything, but why should either seem offensive, and to whom?

The ad with the man seems to say, "Hey, I get more sex than you do....buy this product and you can get more sex, too!" Yeah, right, buddy!
In that sense I suppose the ad offends me, but not to the point where I'm fuming mad. A lot of those models --and all these "bromercials" about guys getting together "doing guy stuff" -- seem somewhat effeminate for some reason.
I don't know. I just don't need to celebrate being a guy by being around other guys.
