That's pretty hard to assess generally. Collectively I think Americans display less "good judgement" than individually due to peer pressure and the popularity of a cause or issue. Perhaps you could offer an example of "good" versus "poor" judgement as you see it and define for us what you perceive as the difference. It's usually more productive to debate specific examples than generalities.

Actually, I am just speaking generally, as a whole, in our decision making, beliefs, and dealings with each other on a day-to-day basis--overall looking at the big picture. Do we, as Americans, have, display, and exercise good judgment? All I am really looking for is for people to ponder it awhile and provide a yes or no answer with comments if wanted, or can the question not be answered, which is questionable in itself?

That depends on what one means.
It's hard to see the whole picture without assessing its parts, and without having criteria.

In some respects, I think we're better now than ever before, but in other ways we are worse.

So I guess what I'm getting so far is the question can't be answered generally, I guess. Personally, I didn't find it that hard to answer.

    Depends on what they're judging..

Pre-teens aren't too bad. Look out from then until about 30. Takes about that long to get used to handling the pubescent influx of hormones and realize that they are really on their own.

What criteria would we go by that's strictly American?

That's way too vague to discuss even generally. You'd have to define what you meant by good judgement.

Humans are generally unwilling to acknowledge their own ignorance and wired to defend their own beliefs instead of ascertaining truth.

    tl;dr No.
