| Lazy Sniper Location: Toronto, Canada Posts: 513 | Sometimes I really do wonder if America would be a nicer neighbour if everyone did smoke a little more. I apologize, but I must laugh! As America is trying to ban pot (well they never stopped trying to ban it) we in Canada are watching a Canadian Icon (Pierre Burton - my he rest in peace (age - not pot)) teach us all how to roll a joint on our government funded TV station. Yes, smoking a lot of pot will cause impairment, drinking alcohol will cause impairment faster... it's still an individual choice, and operating a vehicle under the influcence of either is illegal. I think one of the benefits to de-crimilizing and going towards the legalization of pot is that people know much more about it, and there is much less chance of buying bad cuts that may have synthetic intoxicants in them that are far more dangerous than the pot. Oh - and that story must be false... I mean the guy was smoking up and angry.... |

But give me a stoned person over a drunk to deal with any day. They won't assault me, they won't start any other kind of fight, the worst they will do is annoy you with saying things that could only be funny if you were smoking too. Or clear out your pantry of 'munchies'. Big deal. And if they drive, their pot-induced paranoia makes them extremely careful. I think the alcohol was a larger factor in this guy's wreck. How often do you hear of wrecks caused by those UTI of pot only, no drink? There are a million from drink only. The ban on it when alcohol is legal is retarded, IMO. | The curious Gwen Location: In a cage surrounded by ignorance Posts: 36 | It is not the drink and the drug's fault!! The person who decides to take the resposibilty of drinking and driving's (or getting drugged up and driving) fault. They make the decision and did not act responsible. The drink/drug did not make them have one more, they did that. Stupid people will always be stupid. But when stupid people do stupid things (getting in a car when they can't even see straight) and kill/injure someone that is their fault and they need to suffer the consiquences. |
