Are the westboro bapist church good?

Are the westboro bapist Church good Christians? All they are doing is taking the old testament literally? Is this not the true face of religion and in order to be part of the morally correct peaceful worshipers you have to cherry pick the book.
I hate it when Christians denounce this Church as if the bible good never be interpreted for hate.

"God is patient, is kind, is love, not wrath and hate. They OBVIOUSLY do NOT know who the Father is, and they are twisting the word of God, and the bible says that is an unforgivable sin. I pray that God will have mercy on them."

They actually believe/promote EVERY nasty thing in the bible. They don't cherry-pick like the rest of them Christians. What are you gonna do? Pretend that God didn't ask for the death of homosexuals?
If your God exists, he indeed hates "fags"
nd your god is a homophobic misogynistic psychopath who likes to wave a flag of love and tolerance when he's got nothing to do with it.

I'm sick of this mentally that if they are not interpreting the book in a peaceful way they are not a representation of that religion and are a fringe group.

What would it take for people to just accept these religions are not peaceful?
Apart for a loss of being in denial of the entire history of that religion.

When the moderate factions of both Christianity and Islam insist we respect and not challenge religious belief, it permits the likes of Phelps and his merry band in inbreds and all the other extremists in both camps to exist.

Usually when the religious criticize extremism, they offer a vague condemnation of "evil":
"...Even the Islamic cleric who spoke at the special national
prayer service in Washington refrained from openly attacking and condemning
the suicide animals who killed thousands of Americans. President Bush
sat there as the 'moderate' Muslim spoke about uprooting evil in the
name of Allah. No reference was made to which evil he was referring
    to."

They don't wish to associate themselves with any alleged evil act, which is understandable. You'll find the same game played out in all kinds of power struggles.

The Westboro Baptist Church members actually do cherrypick which commandments they choose to follow.

"Judge not, lest ye be judged."
    "be compassionate and humble"
"do not repay evil with evil"
"'how often should I forgive someone who sins against me?', 'not seven times, but seventy times seven'"

I won't bother citing those because I doubt quotes from the Bible fall under copyright infringement.

Anyways, Christianity is a peaceful religion, and Judaism possibly, but I'm not familiar with Judaism, so I really can't say. Though a peaceful religion, however, "Christians" have caused possibly raped and pillaged the world the most, and caused the most harm to other ethnic and religious groups.

I have more respect for the Westboro Baptist nutters than the so-called moderates. One must add hypocrisy to the list of charges against moderate Christians. At least Westboro Baptist folks are consistent with their God.

A man said to the universe:
    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

I gotta say.. I have listened to Shirley (Phelps) Roper quite a bit on radio, and I have yet to hear any Christian that can debate her. She knows her shit up and down and back and forth... its this simple.. If you are going to take the stance that the Bible is "the word of God".. then forget it... you will never be able to argue or disagree with a thing she says. The woman knows not only her bible passages back and forth, but also context and history. So long story short, if you're debating within the "Marvel Universe".. she will tell you every possible reason the Hulk will beat up Spiderman... and about 5 you never thought of.

Now, there is also no doubt that Westboro Baptist are a bunch of assholes and extremists. And I think they are a necessary mirror for many so-called Christians to take a long look into... cuz thats what it looks like when you go "full retard" if you get my drift.

Here's the truth of the family... mentally and physically abused by old Fred... and this is what you get..

Here is a fascinating article ( actually transcript of a speech) by Nate Phelps, one of Fred's sons.. He talks about what life was like growing up in the family, and how he eventually fled the house and got away. Its all pretty heartbreaking, but certainly sheds some light on why Shirley and the others are the way they are..

Contrradiction? Why do you still view it as peaceful?

Bullshit. The Westboro Baptists are the worst Christians of all time.

Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
So, yeah. The Westbooro Baptists are all going to hell, assuming such a place exists.

But truth, Hajjaj was convinced, held many layers.
