Have you ever noticed that the ones that stay hung up about this stuff are the ones with upbringings that included this kind of strict censorship? People often do go through a phase of childishness around the topic, but really the sooner they get it off their chest the better, and from what I've seen the catholic approach to things seriously retards that development, often preventing it entirely.

Personally, I'd rather have some nasties slip through than vaporize a lot of good stuff because the Church Lady feels uncomfortable. But that's just me. :)

I'd rather let each person rule their own lives.


What about kids? Different people are ready to adress this stuff at different times, if you let them decide for themselves then they'll address it when theyre ready to, and get to grips with the subject when theyre ready to, and avoid all the crass immaturity. This is one of the basic errors in school sex eduation today, the attempt to teach all kids the same material at the same age, when in fact most knew it all years ago, several seriously needed to know it years ago but didnt, and some are still not ready to address it, for them the timing is just inappropriate.
