| BANNED-Warned multiple times about instigating. User then reported topics multiple times to mess with staff. Posts: 4,412 | You talk about respect, but show that you care little about human life and have no respect for people, calling them "morons" and hoping that they burn themselves. Keep your insulting posts to yourself. This is not a place for such nonsense. Quote:

In the U.S. our freedom is generally based upon the constitution which, you will note, spells out limits to what the GOVERNMENT can do or restrict and not the citizens. I'm curious as to what your definition of freedom is.

No, it does not deserve one. The respect is being earned, and not granted by any means. There is not much of an insult or a nonesense, but facts. If I am about to respect people with no positive values, then sooner-or-later I may become one (without positive values), as well. If a person has difficulties with The National Flag recognition from another one, then that is that person's problem. Not only that. That is the answer to that person's intellectual and mental capabilities, also. There are variety of ways and methods to express its view or disappointment directed to governing bodies and its policies than a burning the National Flag. One of that ways is to express views or opinions to the Senate, Congress or Assembly representative. That person needs to realize that a state does not represent an anarchy but has already been shaped to people's demands, and there are political forms of expressing views or opinions. It seems that some people have neither clue on politics nor forms it functions. If people want changes to be made in political or ideological state's structure, then people should seek for such ones, with accordance to the applicable Law and Constitution. "Blah, blah, blah", is not enough to accomplish such task, but mind, intellect, ect. at least. Present the arguments on this thread's subject, instead of attempting to "conquer" my views or opinions. As of now, you have presented none (or close to it). Last edited by Rainbow; Dec 2, 2004 at 09:22 pm.

If Freedom - by its definition - is the "absence of restrictions", then what is the state we live in ? No such state exists in the world we reside, regardless of its political or ideological fundaments. (Even) according to the physics, there is no such state. Otherwise, we have Hmmm I am not sure what it could be :-))) Example : matter vs. anti-matter.

If you live alone on an island, for instance, you DO have total freedom. Unless of course you insist on bringing the laws of physics in (which is ridiculous) just to muddy the waters. We were not talking about anything remotely like that, or at least I wasn't.
