Creating welcoming and inclusive work environments, where gay couples are treated exactly like married heterosexual couples, makes good business sense.
I read the article. And I have no problem whatsoever if a company wants to grant same-sex partner benefits to their employees. So long as it's voluntary, there is no issue. But if companies are FORCED to treat gay couples as though they are the true legal equivalent of heterosexual couples, when they clearly are not, that's when I dig my heels in.

Real polls?

Zogby?
CNN?
FOX?

What do "you" consider to be a "real" poll?

LOL. Did you even read the poll? It shows a majority of people oppose homosexual marriage "equality."

And it's completely backwards from your initial Volconvo poll fantasy. Not that I care. My point was just that Volconvo polls serve only to illustrate the leanings of the folks who participate here. Not exactly useful for proving any actual point, Osborn. Now run along.

Hey, run along yourself since you are alone in your thoughts.

View ALL the polls on the site I listed and you get a clearer picture.

Again I see you suddenly don't see anything that makes sense while contradicting your points.

I say:
Aren't all polls like that? Polls can only reflect the PEOPLE WHO PARTICIPATE!

You just assume that the polls that show what you like are a "fair" reperesentation of all people, while polls who show different must somehow be skewed.

That is my bitch about news polls. CNN's poll is taken by people who go to CNN's website, as is every other poll.

Their fans are not a CROSS SECTION OF ALL PEOPLE.

Gee, I thought this thread was about homosexual marriage, which just so happens to coincide with the poll you posted.

I didn't realize I had to scroll down and sift through pages of data in order to understand all of the polls in a greater context so that I could then infer that your original reference to the vague and utterly useless Volconvo poll was actually correct.

Nice try at a comeback, but I think the record will reflect that you got your teeth kicked in on this one, my boy.

Again, Osborn, the point is that you were trying to make a point by referencing the Volconvo poll. When I pointed out that this poll is utterly useless, you went out and found an alleged "real" poll, and posted it along with a "smackdown" type of comment as though it somehow proved your case.

Now, you are backpeddling on that poll (and all polls, it seems). So apparently you seem to have realized your mistake, but your still trying to act like you have somehow contributed something other than a series of entries that make you look silly.

Thanks for the entertainment.

Take away from these posts whatever you want, I made them easy to understand, but somehow you still fail.

This was expressly stated in the opening post. I wanted to find out what volconvo thinks. We can't call this a general poll in any sense of the term.

I'm starting to think you only hear what you want to hear. Clearly, he addressed this issue, but you fail to notice the bigger truth. All polls reflect the opinions of those that participate, and only those that participate.

*sigh*

He pointed to the Volconvo poll as though it matters in the grand scheme of things. Here's news for everyone here - it doesn't.

No, that's your (mis)interpretation. It appears the rest of us understood the difference.

Quelle surprise.

You people are really thickheaded.

Here is the original post - in it's entirety. The context couldn't be more clear, he's suggesting that my point of view is moot because of the Volconvo poll.

You really shouldn't be so hard on these guys, especially when you consider that most people here, in their regular, everyday, outside of the internet life don't discuss subjects like this. Even more so since there isn't a mandatory Reading Comprehension Test with results posted on the site that people have to pass before they can post.

It really is impossible to say for certain whether some of the propaganda techniques I've observed here are deliberate or unintentional.

You're both right. Your propaganda techniques are probably paid for, since you have such little to base your side on except (your) morals and extremism.

Your dual ability to refute all logic, facts and past context, are superior to any Fox mouthpiece, or CNN drone I have seen yet.

Touche', now enough with the snide remarks.

Call me an extremist if you like. I'm merely advocating the status quo. You are the one who is advocating the removal of legal marriage recognition from the realm of the federal government, and THAT'S an extreme measure.
