People with a riligion should accapt that the world issn't revolving around them. If we would have to accept all the rules of all riligions, just think how the world would look. Woman would be totally p0wnt, they wouldn't have right to vote, wouldn't be able to show skin, wouldn't be able to work or produce thoughts of there own. Freedom of speech would be crushed, since the bible says not to question god. Rock music and rap music would probably be banned and a lot of people with great sence of humor would probably be put to death. Things like lord of the rings and harry potter, the simspons, south park would be banned. All science bookes would be burned, and we wouldn't be able to eat pork anymore. Every picture with a pork will be burned. Everyone crossing the law will be punished by the whip.

But the time of riligion is comming to an end, the world is growing up.
So people should be able to do what they want, it's their body and life.

The point gunz was trying to make (with his hit and run post) didn't escape anyone. We all know he was trying convey kids are better off being raised in a family by two "normal" heterosexual parents and that being raised by gay parents will somehow warp a child's mind.

There are 121 pages in this thread about gay marriage. If gunz had bothered to read page one, in post #34 the originator of the OP stated:

Quote:
Homos having children is a different subject that I do not choose to debate here.
Homosexual Marriage

WW...Gunz is a troll.

This is sort of difficult for me. I like leaving people alone with their opinions, and most Christians feel strongly that marriage is a religious bond between a man and a woman. They always have, and probably always will.

Personally.. I don't give a crap if two men, or two women want to get married. But to be respectful to a group's beliefs, there could always be an alternative ceremony in which the couple was "married" but not .. in the Christian sense? Though hopefully still recognized as a "bound" couple by the Government and whatnot.

Then of course you have Christian gays, and yadayada.

.. I dunno. ^_^

Do only Christians get married? Did Christians invent marriage? If non-Christians are getting married, wouldn't that indicate that marriage is more than just a Christian ceremony? Christians are the only people who get married "in the Christian sense". What about everyone else?

I think Christians believe that marriage is a religious affair.

I'm not saying that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to marry.. I was simply trying to find an alternative.. :/

Christians are free to think what they want about their own marriages. But they are not free to impose their beliefs on the rest of us. As long as a gay couple isn't asking to be married in a church, what makes Christians think they can demand that couple abide by their beliefs?

I know better than most that people's views shouldn't be forced on someone who doesn't want to hear it. I guess I was trying to make both sides happy - something that will never be accomplished.

If I had to sit there and choose "legalize it or not," I'd definitely vote for legalizing it. I'm all about the "if it doesn't hurt anyone else.." idea.

If you're trying to be fair you shouldn't presume that some people ignore religious views simply because they "don't want to hear them". Many of us don't believe there's any reason to presume they represent reality. I could just as easily presume Christians ignore non-believers because we say things they don't want to hear.

Marriage is a social custom. Our society is not exclusively Christian. It's really that simple.

I'm sorry, so I can assume you enjoy listening to preaching, and ranting at how you should be Christian? Because that IS what I was referring to, in a somewhat thoughtful, sarcastic sense in memory of my own failed conversions.

I'm confused.. because we pretty much have the same opinion. I'm just not as.. forceful?

Maybe I should have worded myself differently, because I was agreeing with you, if you thought I was saying something different?

I believe everyone has the right to love, live, and marry whomever they choose, regardless of their gender.

There. Cleared up, are we? :)

Well, it is a debate forum. I was just debating some points I disagreed with. Glad we could agree on this "important" topic that politicians are using to distract the public from the real issues facing our nation.

Ya she has an IQ of like 4. And a maturity level to put her IQ to shame.

However I kinda do disagree in the sense that your suggestion sounds like "seperate but equal" which is fine as a starting point, but you have to move on from that eventually.

edit: oh and because I'm insecure and a hypocrite, I need to tell the new comer that I'm not gay, just bad at super smash brothers (it's how I ended up with the avatar. Long story)

I suppose I've argued enough about it, that I'm looking more to a compromise, instead of continuing to try and convince Christians that homosexuality is normal, and shouldn't be seen as "immoral."

Hey, I'm Christian. So I try and use scripture to argue my point (I have the hard side.)
