gettin back on topic, I feel that homosexual marriage should recieve full support from the rest of the community. it enriches our culture, and the priveleges that such an official declaration of love would bring should be available to any couple, be they gay or hetero.

A mockery? How does it make our culture look anything, but able to tolerate and accept any non-discriminatory denomination with wide open arms?

And I have never once heard the words of a gay politician. or activist I don't think that has much to do with it.

I'm not gay, and I still support gay marriage. What does that make me? Maybe I'm in the closet and don't know it yet :eek:

God-fearing America, where every believer goes to church on Sunday, treats others as they'd want to be treated, gives of their profit to the poor, never divorce, only raise little god-fearing-respectful-obedient children, have eliminated crime, care for every child born theirs or not, preach peace and love around the world, stand up for the downtrodden and outcasts...
If you think this country is a mess, you only have yourselves to blame. Gays couldn't possibly make an impact on society of the scale and severity the religious have.

If your argument is that "Anyone who cannot make new children shouldn't have any children" Then would you say that infertile strait couples shouldn't be allowed to adopt? If yes to that, then what will we do with all the orphans?

I think that points of view like the one you stated above hurt the children more than anything. To have a couple gay parents is surely better than being raised a ward of the state.

If I didn't have empathy and compassion for kids in those circumstances, I'd agree with you. Why should gays have to help clean up a mess made by straight people. They didn't contribute to it.

Why does it so offend people that two consenting adults want to spend their lives together and are simply asking for the same rights given couples of opposite sex, why do you care what I do in my home, it doesn't effect you any at all, I have constantly been confused by this, can anyone answer my question?

I have to be honest...I don't care to think about what ANYONE does in their home/bed. I don't care. :) I have enough to do in my life. Who are we to tell a couple in love that they're not allowed to get married? Out of the last 6 of my friends marriages the last 10 years since high school, 4 are already divorced. We, as heterosexuals, sure as heck aren't setting some sort of example to anyone.
If it is a sin...well, honestly, who cares? Why should any of us care even if that were true? More people need to mind their own business and look at their OWN lives. I believe in God, very much so. I refuse to believe my 2 good friends who are gay are going to hell because of it. Somehow along the way, God evolved from a message of peace and love to a constant fear of Him. If you're going to throw the Bible in here, at least remember this:
"The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these. "
Somehow that gets so overlooked these days.

GraceisGone, God never evolved from a message of peace and love. He was from the beginning supposed to be feared. That's how the church managed to take so much control of the populace.
