| Guest Posts: n/a | Vegetarianism I know a few vegetarians, and I assume most of you aren't, but for the few who are... what is the specific reason for it? I know this isn't really a debate right now, but I suspect it could turn into one! Funny: http://vbforums.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=1573312 |

The point is to appreciate and give thanks for the damned tasty cow that I am wearing right now... . . . whenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such forms as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | The link is a joke, it's not supposed to make sense... its making fun of the vegetarian ads... I have 4 vegetarian friends. 1 becuase he "loves animals". 2 because their parents raised them that way. 1 doesn't like the taste of meat (yeah, right!) |

| Supercalifragilistic Posts: 431 | I hate the term, but my diet is what some people call "pescotarian" - meaning that the only meats I regularly consume are chicken and fish. I don't have any health or animal rights reasons for my diet. Chicken and fish are just the only two meats I have a taste for. If I'm going out to eat with someone though and they want steak, I always go along with it, because I do not want to be an inconveniance by being offputting. I find strictly vegetarian diets to be extremely unhealthy. Having your diet consist entirely of vegetables, fruits and grains is just as bad for your body as having it exist entirely of meat products. I don't know where people came up with the notion that depriving your body of the nutrients and proteins it needs from a certain foodgroup was "healthy". I think the real misconception among vegetarians is that they overlook the fact that what kills people is not meat, but an over-abundance of it accompanied by a lack of exercise. | Molten Ash Location: Canada Posts: 55 | I'm a vegetarian. I'm not a PETA member. PETA makes us all look bad. On another note, I hate people who are against hunting, and then go eat a burger. I think it's worse to farm an animal for the purpose of food than to hunt for the purpose of food. |

| Igneous Magma Location: New York City Posts: 739 | Yay, non-PETA member! I always thought there was something wrong with that organization: Any org that'd rather spend thousands on getting a town to change its name instead of lifting a finger to stop cock and dog fights in my neighborhood is a org that doesn't have its priorities straight. However, considering the vast populations of human omnivores in this world, hunting... really isn't a viable option. Not to mention that those cultures who limited their population and sedentary nature by following the paths of animals tended to be destroyed by those who farmed and ranched. . . . whenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such forms as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. |

| Igneous Magma Location: New York City Posts: 739 | Actually, shows how much you know about what bullets do when they impact something. Bullets used for hunting usually are soft point or hollow point. Soft point bullets usually have exposed lead, and expand on impact - meaning that the meat hit by the bullet is rather tainted, not to mention any meat the bullet itself is caught in. Hollow point is similar, but more jacketed. If you want a clean meat taste, use FMJ, though that's probably going to go through the animal and a tree or two beyond it, meaning the animal's probably going to run away a few miles before bleeding to death. For my taste, I'd rather you used a machete. . . . whenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such forms as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. |

If you take a carcass away with hits from other areas you'll be banned from the park. Anyway bow hunting is better, have to get a lot closer, which means more fun in the stalking department. Hunting with rifles always seems unfair. Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. Winston Churchill |
