    When not committing them themselves.

    Grandpa h.
LOL! While we all know that cops commit crimes sometimes it is also a sure thing that most crimes are committed by criminals who are not cops. Criminals tend to hate cops and for good reason. It is cops who put them in jail.

I would much rather be around a bunch of cops than, say San Quentin inmates. Somehow I'd feel safer around cops.

You wouldn't happen to have any statistics showing the number of crimes stopped by armed citizens would you?
To get good proof, you must subscribe to the "National Riflemen" and read the articles there. Also the "Armed Citizen" portion. Of course to get the National Riflemen, you also have to join the NRA, something I doubt you will do. You can get a copy of "More Guns, Less Crime" a book that lays it all out for you.

I don't want to search the web; that's BORING.

Simply stated; if you are assaulted you are much better off if you are armed. Otherwise you just become a victim. The cops will show up and draw a line around you with a piece of chalk. If you are armed they will draw a line around the other guy. I know several wonderful people who were murdered. They would still be here if they had been armed.

In other words, you have no statistics to back up your premise. That just makes it your opinion and we've already seen that you're willing to lie in order to try winning an argument.

In my opinion, simply stated, being armed does nothing to prevent one from being assaulted. Being armed does nothing to prevent a crime from taking place as brandishing a weapon usually happens during or after the crime has been committed. Without combat training (especially close combat training) a person is more likely to harm themselves or a bystander by drawing and brandishing or firing a handgun.

So the law has been in place for some time now.

Let's take a look at the shootings by licensed carriers in bars thus far:

    Thought so.

Would you take your gun if you were going out for drinks? No doubt in Arizona you can, but would you? I don't think I would.

When I go out for drinks, its a social thing, I'm meeting friends, looking to have some fun, I don't associate concealed weapons with having a good time. I'm sure they are great for safety, useful controling vermin and maybe even to keep the government in check, but I don't think I'd want one on me in a bar with a bunch of other guys when I was making out with a girl, if I was playing a game of cards or while watching the game.

People in bars sometimes drink too much, if any one of those is also carrying a weapon it is likely the added courage he gained by drinking too much will encourage him to draw his weapon and then its just too easy to reach a regretable outcome.

Is there a law in Arizona forbidding operating handguns while intoxicated?

All I know is there is much brainwashing going on, and it's important for tyrants to get people while they're young enough to learn to obey without question.

Asked and answered multiple times, counselor

The legal Concealed Carry License (CCW) cannot imbibe while in an establishment that serves alcoholic beverages while in possession of his weapon.

Dire warnings of rampant, drunken gun slinging were the norm at the outset of this thread.

I’d simply like to see the stories that simply must exist now that the law has been in place for some time.

I dunno... I don't think there's much of a reason to enter a bar unless you're going to drink.

Yah think? But hey, according to Ape no one carrying a concealed weapon would ever even consider drinking. And who would ever go into a bar to drink, after all?

I was going to note the contradiction in this law, is it just for people who like to go to bars to watch other people drink? Maybe its the custom in Arizona, in the bars I go to the barman will ask you to leave if aren't going to drink.

As I have previously demonstrated clearly to Rick and others, the law in question does not single out bars. Rather it allows people to carry in establishments that serve alcohol, like the vast majority of restaurants.

Heretofore a legally armed citizen was forced to disarm before entering Chili's for lunch. Now he may enter.

Unsurprisingly, none thus far have produced a single story of the loco gun toting redneck we were all warned about getting drunk and gunning down some other schlub.

    Unsurprising indeed.

Oh the horror! Going unarmed in a Chili's! How could you stand it? It must have been so terrible for you!

I eat at Chilis from time to time. I like the margaritas and the ribs are passable. I've never felt the need to be armed with a deadly weapon. You firearms fetishists do keep me amused.
