"old man" and "old lady" are now considered demeaning to older people. Say "Eve and Adam" not "Adam and Eve" to avoid implying male priority over women. And it's not just an American problem... recent news from Britain: Quote:

At my kids' school they no longer called the kids "handicapped" but used the term "resource". Now the kids are making fun of each other and using the term "resource" in a derogatory way. People need to just cope with the truth and lose their presumption of hatred. Just deal with REAL hatred.

Keeping the jerks off the air is ok with me. This incident has nothing to do with PC. Its one thing to support the right of all to speak etc, but when youve lost 25% of your country's population to these f--- murderers the reality of it sinks in. It would be like the US airing the Taliban political party broadcast, only the nazis have done about (10 million divided by 3000) more damage, and are a far more serious threat. Your terrorism problem is a piddle compared to this. As far as free airtime goes, they can stick their speech right up their freedom as far as I'm concerned, and choke to death on it. I cant see any reason they should be allowed to live, let alone air this crap publically. I think youve just misunderstood the situation, but just in acse you didnt, Do you support the Talibans right to free nationwide party political broadcasts across the US? Paid for by the taxpayer. | Hot Lava Location: Glendale, Queens, New York Posts: 970 | Well, let's see - it's coming from California - right?? All I can say to that is it is so typical - and boy does Governer "Arnold" have his job cut out. I wonder if he will say, what is it" Oh, Hostalavesta Baby. The next thing they will demand is we rename the Black Bird, or Robin Red Breast, or the Pink Flamingo, or the White Swan, etc, etc. Perhaps instead of a man or a woman we should say he/she or she/he??? It just shows how far some have gone in appeasment. People are offended almost every day in one manner-shape-way of form. Does that mean we have to change everything?? That is absolute insanity!!!!! I wonder what they would say if you walked up the them and "You F--king Bastard", you would proably be told that the correct term is "You intercoursing fatherless child". What is America comming to??? God help us from ourselves. Rox is under the impression that they can exist without massive public support it would seem. To blame an organization for political correctness is naïve and scapegoating social responsibilities.

| Hot Lava Location: Glendale, Queens, New York Posts: 970 | I thought this might be some interesting reading. I have selected a only few parts as this is quite long in its entirety: Happy reading :) :) :) http://www.themarksman.com/pc.html Verbal Disarmament For those unfamiliar with the term, political correctness is an insidious form of censorship. Under the theory of political correctness, if you say anything that happens to "offend" the most sensitive member of society, you can be subjected to a variety of persecutions and legal actions. What you say may in fact be accurate, and it may have been stated without a trace of malice. It does not have to qualify as slander, in fact it does not even have to cause any tangible harm. As long as somebody feels they have been offended, you are guilty of being politically incorrect. This strikes me as odd since the last time I checked, this was still the same USA that started its Bill of Rights with a guarantee of free speech. The nation that was founded on the belief that speaking our mind ferverently and passionately was the single most powerful and cherished right we have as citizens. Thomas Jefferson, one of our most outspoken founding fathers, stated in 1808 "The liberty of speaking and writing guards our other liberties." So where do these PC-proponents get off? Where does it say in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights or any other document of law that we all have the right to "not be offended"? When somebody tries to float a stupid argument, don't be shy... tell them its stupid! Challenge them to support their facts in a realistic sense. When you shut up and walk away, you let stupidity win by default. Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. ~ Albert Einstein A Republican - Conservative - PRO-ACTIVE HAWK with compassion For God & Country - To Serve, Defend & Protect Lock & Load - Go In Hot - Praise the Lord & pass the ammunition |
