It can also identify cultural differences. My favorite theatre is currently having an Asian-American film festival. There's no judgments of superiority or inferiority involved... simply explorations on film of what it means to be an Asian-American. Quote:
Jeez, what's so hard to comprehend here? If you saw a Chinaman, or a black african, or an east Indian walking down the street, would you automatically assume they were Australian? Or would they have to give you a rousing "G'day, mite!" before you were sure? No... folks would only be surprised if they found out you WEREN'T Australian. Quote:
In the rest of South America, it would be Criollo privilege, or Castellano. . I don't suffer from insanity... I thoroughly enjoy it

Because it divides us... well I guess we have to wear the consequences of polite behaviour don't we... unless of course the consequences suggest it's not polite to declare racial varience in the first place. Otherwise... I thought you were American with Haole hereditary? Pot. Kettle. Black. (You just did what you complained of others doing) Quote:

Rather racist don't you think? All those nations described have within their boarders... Multiculturalism made up of many races... but you would deny them their place in High Civilization because that concept of High Civilization is the invention of White People therefore only white people shall be associated with it, or could ever possibly live in it! Clearly then, I do not like that way of thinking, nor do I partake of it... hense my next response. Quote:

I've already spoken of Africans in this thread in terms of the Refugees we take from Africa. We also take semi skilled and skilled migrants from Africa. The former has perm residency status, although not citizens unless they choose it. The latter are temp residence who can apply for a perm visa at their will. I don't doubt that there are some Africans who have decided upon citizenship or who have children born in Australia. So, whilst I cannot asume straight up that they are citizens of Australia, I can very easily determine if they are residents or not, not by the colour of their skin, but by their dress and camera accessories or lack thereof. Man... when I'm in a train, on my way to work, I am amongst a veritable sea of skin types from asian to black, from white to coffee and we all of us look like we are going to work, with our work clothes and work bags making our intentions rather obvious.

| Let's not make assumptions about other posters, shall we? Drop the jibes and debate.

| Poor people have limited opportunity, and some poor people are white and some are blck, so I see no real reason to turn that into a white priveledge thing. I got no money too, and I cna't blame it on my race. Saving the empovershed by empoverishing their counterparts will empoverish the whole. |
