Good question. Perhaps it's because of the obvious visual difference - ie, to the naked eye, they aren't white, or perhaps it's something deeper than that? For those calling themselves black, I can only speculate that it's because they still experience discrimination as if they were black, and thus are showing solidarity? Who knows?

My two nephews speak perfect Spanish. Since they live in Culver City, which is right smack dab in the middle of the LA basin, their folks decided to have them schooled in Spanish. So they speak the lingo like natives. They have lived in Mexico for some time from time to time and they get along fine.

They have told me that if the average American could hear/understand; what Mexicans say about us while standing in line at Safeway that we'd all hate Mexicans.

First off, not only mexicans speak spanish, so get that thought out of your head this instant. Second, as a California native who knows a good portion of spanish with many hispanic friends know that not all of them talk crap. Some do, yes, but many don't.

I agree with what you've posted. But I also understand that many Mexicans say terrible things about Americans. That's not a capital offense.

I guess my question is: are there good Mexians and bad Mexicans? If that's the case then what should we do about bad Mexicans who are also here illegally?

And it's not vice versa? Looking at this board, how many Mexicans would hate Americans, based on the opinions of a select few?

Your question is are there good mexicans and bad mexicans? Are you seriously attempting to see things in terms other than black and white? Of course there are "good mexicans" and "bad mexicans"... People are people. There are good and bad people in every race, duh.

Look out kid, they keep it all hid.

Well perhaps if I though they could all understand what I'm saying in English they'd realize I am telling them to learn english and go home. Seriously though I can understand bits of Spanish some curse words, and such. I did get after a Mexican at Kentucky Fried Chicken once, because he and his co-workers were standing around in front of the customers cursing. I told him I wanted an aplogy and that I was not going to tolerate them cursing in front of us, aand that I could in fact understand what he was saying. I got claps from the other people waiting in line. So I often wonder who is disrespecting who here?

Saving the empovershed by empoverishing their counterparts will empoverish the whole.
