gays

okay so il cut right to the chase.

Now i have no problem with gays in general. But i do have a problem with "extreme gays" like the kind who use dildos on parade and wear womens clothing etc etc.

Now,i have sat here and thought about this. People say other gays have sex with other gays. That gays do open acts of sodomy and publicy hit on other men (both straight and gay)

so here is my question to you,
espacily the gays.

are most gays like any of the sterotype or "extreme gays" or not?
Cause all the gays i've seen are normal but i have heard things on media, blogs and other people of these.

So lets see the comments.

You are probably more likely to hear about these homosexuals rather than others, because
1. They are the more vocal ones about their homosexuality
2. They are often used to portray all gays by the anti-homosexuality people.

Open acts of sodomy?

I defy anyone's claim on this board to say that they've ever personally witnessed two homosexuals having anal intercourse in public.

As for your stereotype question:

Are most <insert demographic> like <insert extreme example of demographic>?

The fact that you include the word sterotype is already creating a moot arguement.

Obviously not, or else you wouldn't correctly characterize them as stereotypical and extreme.

Average people are rarely mentioned in the press or online. The gay guy who holds a regular job, pays his bills, walks his dog and lives an average life with his partner is hardly news-worthy. The ones that do make the news or otherwise garner attention (like pride marchers) are often the only obviously gay people most others ever see.

We shouldn't be so hard on the pride parade folks, either. It's the one chance each year to be outrageous, shocking and flamboyant. Sure it's extreme, but so's Halloween. Those people aren't dressing like that every day. The other 364 days of the year you probably wouldn't even notice them if you passed them on the street.

Who cares? How does it bother you? Do women wearing men's clothes bother you? They wear jeans and tshirts and suits and crap all the time. What's the difference?

Yeah, so do straight guys. They "publicly hit on" other woman (both straight and gay)... what's the difference?

There are lots of "extreme straight" people who have all kinds of freaky fetishes like BDSM and peeing on your face and whatnot. What's the difference?

Look out kid, they keep it all hid.

While living in New Haven and working in and around Manhatten, I saw homosexuals of all types--basically what I would see within every subset. Some fit the stereotype to a t, some were as straight as straight could be, you know, with the whole gay thing added in. When I moved to East Bumbleweed, I found that the homosexuals were a lot more reserved for the most part, more family types and long committed relationship types.

What I'm trying to say is that the homosexuals I have known have closely followed the attributes of the heterosexuals in the same area.

I know a guy who got a sex change.

Before it happened, you never would have guessed. He didn't talk or act feminine at all. He even worked in the mines... actualy she still does.

I also have known gay men who dress normally, and talk only a little bit feminine, who make out with each other on trains.. if that counts as open acts of sodomy.

As for the gay girls I know, ya, most do publicly hit on other women. But although they have short short hair, they only dress a little bit tom boyish.. but they are still more girly then boyish.

So, as with most steriotypes. Most take on one trait of the steriotype, but none fully embrace it.

I dress like a normal teenager, and while I may worry about my hair a bit more than most guys, I act like anybody else.

I act like any other teenager as well. Though I must admit it's amazingly fun hitting on straight strangers. Though really there's no other option, it's impossible to find which way people are swinging first.

Exreme gays, never actually met one and I know loads of homosexuals.

Yeah, really, what would constitute an "extreme" gay? Raping the patrons of a biker bar in the men's room?

I really do hate that attitude, it's fine for straight people to walk around making sex jokes the whole time and getting their "intake of titties for the day", well it is where I live, but for someone gay to do anything close to the same they'll get shouted at for "flaunting their lifestyle".

But the day will most likely come when "their lifestyle" is seen as normal virtually everywhere, at least in the United States and in most of Europe. Personally, I just see it as "a different type of normal." They're normal relationships, just with different sexual pairings. If I were gay, I'm sure I'd pursue the "lifestyle" as well, especially when it is increasingly accepted.

It's an extension of the idea that homosexuality should be tolerated, but only so long as it's made publicly unacceptable.

Are these activities commonly observed in public in Canada? I live in a major U.S. city, in a predominantly gay neighborhood, and I've never once encountered those behaviors in public. To be fair, I've never observed any straight people doing those things publicly, either. (BDSM, like cross-dressing, is a primarily heterosexual activity, by the way).
