| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | Media Reform A number of people want to reform the media to insure that news is no longer controlled by a small handful of people who have a monopoly on the TV / Radio networks. And also, to challenge the current law that the Military can use our tax money to promote a war effort over the public airways ( educate the public). Of speical concern are the abuses of the Fox networks. So what do you think. Should we allow for our news programing to be controlled a monopoly of speical interests? Or should action be taken to insure that we have a large diversity of ownships of the public airways? Democracy Now! | "This Way to Better Media" |

Now, let's get to the heart of why Fox News is always under attack. It's because the liberal news networks cannot compete with Fox News' ratings. It's the freedom of the press, the right to choose, the supply and demand that liberal media is trying to shut down. Many Americans want to watch better news programs than Nancy Grace. Many Americans don't want to watch Chris Matthews drool over Obama.

I kinda jump around and then sort the mail later. But what about a monopoly situation for news and opinions?

The so called "liberals" are fighting the wrong war, so to speak. Fox News is owned by News Corp. The irony is there will be no such thing as public airways in a few years. So fighting for public acces, and making Fox the target makes absolutely no sense. A quick scan of the Board of Directors for News Corp reveals Viet D. Dinh chief architect of the USA PATRIOT Act. Holy crap right? So to bring down these huge monopolies means goodby Disney, General Electric too. Liberals couldn't stand to part with Katie Couric and Mickey Mouse. Plus, liberals must be watching Fox News just so they have something to bitch about. The movie Talk Radio said it best: Quote:
