If a Romantic relationship contradics with orders, then the couple can make a decision. Go home, or follow orders. The same as anyone else who has a problem with orders. By chivalry do you mean jumping in front of bullets and protecting females on the battle field? It should be made clear that they arn't expected to do that. If they choose to anyway, then it wouldn't be any different to dying for a mate. Its their choice. ![]() Amused Location: Mid Atlantic Posts: 1,178 | I'm wondering if WW is concerned about fragging? It's how the troops deal with members of their platoon they don't care for. Numerous "accidents" have been attributed to this practice. They are stripped of their individuality in boot camp and built back up as one unit. (heh..does it matter if we stay on topic in this thread anymore?) We can start a new one on this if you are interested. 15th amendment: Section 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude. Why not sex as well. It's a good question. Quote:

Basically means no one can stop a citizen from voting based on race, color or previous conditions of servitude. Quote:

There are a number of reasons somebody might disobey a direct order. I think barring the order being illegal (and there are provosions for that in the UCMJ), disobeying a legal order is punishable, and really, the "why" is not really crucial. Whether it be sexual/romantic feelings, political beliefs, etc., too bad. People can be JUST as passionate about their religious beliefs, or moral convictions, etc as about other humans, so I don't think this is a valid reason to prohibit women (or gays...) from the military.

This is actually the only place I agree with the bible. Ladies, get in the kitchen, make me a sammich! ![]() I think rights should be equal to all people. Now that the power of the pen is greater than the power of the sword, that is possible. Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man a religion, he will starve while praying for fish.

No. That will just create a big legal mess everytime some guy tells a bad joke or something. It's already to the point where you have to consider possible legal consequences before you ask a girl on a date.. Lets not make it any worse. Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man a religion, he will starve while praying for fish.
