I will never understand this. I mean, I enjoy the sexual aspect of my marriage, and same for the relationships before my current one. However, I do not think of sex as "required" to have a close relationship with somebody.

Unless maybe it's the high school hormonal approach to relationships.... but I think that mellows as we get past that first surge of sexuality.

disinterest in sex funnily enough brings death to most close relationships between men and women, just a thought.

Newsflash: not all relationships are between heterosexuals. The concept is still valid if the "platonic friendship" in question is between two guys or two women.

Relationships based primarily on sex don't fare all that well either, Amnon. It's the balance that makes it work. That and not stealing people's chainsaws.

Tell me, then anmon, what about one's relationship with something like their aunt or mother, or sister. You don't need to be sexually attracted to a girl in order to be friends with her.

I take it you say that from personal experience within your family. If not, please provide the study saying that most families have a lot of fights between it's members.

Oh you mean petty little arguments like who gets the remote or last slice of pizza. Well, that happens between two brothers or two sisters as well. Those happen between everyone. But at the end of the day, that person is still your friend. Unless your a very hateful person who holds grudges or they did something terrible to you like leave you in the middle of nowhere

No I don't think they are really, any peace is like a truce, or a break, rest not to fight about anything for a while.
Could be why we fight, so we don't get too close. Natures way of keeping us apart, just a thought.

Really. Well, i am not sure why you think that. With my family and my friend's families, they work together. My sisters give's me rides to and from school. Really, most people are friends with a girl and have no desire to have sex with them. If you are one of the few who do not, try just treating the girl like a guy. Just treat them like anyone else you meet.

That's sad dude. And I am honest. There are a lot of girls i'm just friends with. many aren't to attractive. They are just people who you can enjoy a conversation with.
