Dutch to legalise gay sex in public park

Quote:
Dutch council officials will permit gay sex in public areas but fine dog owners who let their pets off the leash in Amsterdam's Vondelpark.
Dutch to legalise gay sex in public park - Telegraph

Quote:
Paul van Grieken, an Alderman in the Oud-Zuid district of the city, has startled many Amsterdammers, despite their famously liberal attitudes, with plans to allow public sex as part of this summer's new rules of conduct for the country's best-known park.

Sex in the park at night is nothing new for hetro or gay.
If its legal for hetro then why not for gay.

As for the dog owners, well maybe they could let there dog run free at night when no one is around.

Gee, we do not want dogs biting people who are busy having sex.

I guest you could go Dutch Treat on those dates, eh?

Parks have always been romantic spots for lovers to sit under the moon and make out.

But hey! Two doggies having sex is not romanic at all.... right?

But apparently not a lot of men with women go there to have sex, but mostly gay people.

The interesting thing about that story is that it shows the big difference between Dutch culture and ours here in the USA. Can you imagine America ever passing such a law for a park in the middle of the city?

I mean, America has gone to the dogs and they have not.

Sorry, but humor is the only way I can reply to such a story.

Wait, can someone clarify? Does this mean it's illegal for heteros but legal for gays? If so that's possibly the most ridiculous piece of legislation I've ever heard of.

Look out kid, they keep it all hid.

I think anyone can if they are adults. Not sure if they really check a person's ID or not. Or what the age of conscent is in that country.

They must not do it near a kiddie playgound. So I guess kids are not banned from the park after dark.

Parks seem to attact all kinds of activity, especially after dark. Most of our parks are only open from sun-up til sundown. We had one park where they allowed people to stay in it until 10 oclock at night, because it has a lake for fishing and citizens like to fish after dark. And they have a jogging trail that is popular and people like to jog in the evening when the air is cooler. The trees and bushes are trimmed so that the police can drive in and see most all areas without obstruction.

None the less, it attacts gays and teens who want to have sex in the dark, or who want to use drugs, and others who want to spy on them.
and in general - party people.

And oddly enough, Christian groups who walk around with Bibles trying to convert all the sinners.

And of course, those who like to walk the dog.

Most of the citizens more or less ignore what the others are doing, the fishermen could care less if some teens are boozing it up, etc. The police shine their lights and sometimes question people, but I never really saw them arresting anyone. Sometimes they check for fishing permits and might wright a ticket for violators. But mostly the police enjoy sneaking up on a car with foggie windows and getting a peak when they turn on their flashlights.

This is a very intresting law, it really does show the difference between American and Dutch culture, as was said, I'm not sure which culture is better, I can't find anything wrong with the law so I guess its okay with me, probably would be fun for alot of people. But I live out in the country so I have lots of open space around me 24/7 so I'm not sure how much open space and trees are a luxury to city people.

If I understand it correctly, this law seems to say, "People will do what they will do." Of course, to need such help from the law to realize this is rather quaint. Obviously, it doesn't ease the
pain for many "social conservatives."

The real battle

On the surface this appears to be a battle between dog walkers, joggers and the park-sex group. However a much deeper battle is waging. The battle between humanity’s ever increasing desire for pleasure and the pain which results from our inability to satisfy this desire.

Sex in the park, will for a very short period, satisfy a group of people who have expressed this need. Once satisfied, the desire for pleasure will make new demands that park-sex will not satisfy and a new headline will emerge. Our desire for pleasure or our ego may be channeled though sex, fame, drugs and wealth etc. The things that satisfy today will yield no pleasure tomorrow no matter how exotic, erotic or esoteric they are. As each new pleasure-form ceases to satisfy the ego, our pain and emptiness will in time be revealed. Thus the drive to pleasure will be the very thing that exposes our pain and as such we will grow to despise it.

Michael Laitman Legalized Public Gay Sex in Amsterdam Park - Another Step Toward Asking “What Is the Meaning of Life?” | Laitman.com explains that this hatred of the ego will cause us to look for ways to free ourselves from it and its incessant drive. Our despair will lead us to the question, “What is the meaning of life?” In our search for the answer, we will at last find the path that leads us to understand the ego and use it for the intended purpose...

Free sex ed?

If you let your children into a public urban park after dark you know you might have to explain why the bushes are shaking and making happy sounds whether its legal or not. So, why bother making it illegal if making it illegal does nothing? The Dutch have a weird attitude to law enforcement. Its not all bad; they don't bother trying to stop marijuana and as a result its lost its appeal to everybody except rich American tourists.

I think it goes without saying the any suggestion to invade Canada is mind-numbingly stupid.
