It is a major health hazard (both for thou and the people around thou), so why do they allow tobacco and not salvia divinorum? Come on, tell me! I think, I'm free. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,057 | First of all we have no proof based on real science that smoking is a major health hazard. If you have been brainwashed into thinking so then you would not smoke. ( 1 ) - Smoking is a long standing ritual for shaman religions. ( 2 ) - Smoking can reduce our reaction to stress, and stress is the number one health hazard in Ameirca. ( 3 ) - Smoking and the smell of tobacco on our body helps to keep away blood sucking insects that carry dreaded illnesses when they bite you. ( 4 ) - Smoking keeps away people who are control freaks while normal people will still hang out with you. So you can drive off people with evil spirits and they will not bug you all the time. Smoking works like bug spray to get rid of the "goodie two shoes" kinds of people that would otherwise suck you dry emotionally. Smoking can be used for bonding with your peers. |

| Dedicated Anarchist Posts: 172 | I've smoked about everything that can be smoked, and I don't think any of them could do that to a person. You'd have to mainline pure stupid to say something like that. "None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe they are free." -- Johann Von Goethe |

You would have to be blind not to see the scietific evidence that smoking is a major health hazard "A geek is a person, male or female, with an abiding, obsessive, self-effacing, even self-destroying love for something besides status." --D.B. Weiss, Lucky Wander Boy

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,057 | Dang it, if you want to debate this then do so, don't just make those silly remarks that mean nothing. The OP asked a question and we assume you were sincer about debating our answers, but instead you come on with that crap such as "been smoking pot eh", or " Some head shrink should study you because you are nuts". Why are making silly remarks instead of responding to realism with realism? Get with the program man! |

The worse thing is the addiction and so if you attempt to stop for economical reasons or because some new girl friend wants you to, then you would suffer some "withdraw" problems during the process of quiting. I personally started to smoke in 1956, and have been a steady smoker until now, with an average of two packs a day for most of that time. As of this moment smoking has not limited me from doing things and I am healthy enough not to need to use any prescription drugs to maintain. I have known 90 year old people who smoked for years and can get up and dance a jig around the teenagers. If people develope some kinds of illnesses from another cause then cigarettes might not be good for them. They are only for healthy people and not people who are physically weak already, or who become that way. I would not recomend people start smoking because of the addiction side-effect and how tax collectors and cigarette companies can take advantage of that with price hikes. When I started they were 25 cents per pack. And because this is no longer a smoking-friendly culture to live in. However your question is somewhat pointless. Because you know that I cannot provide a single webpage link to a scientific study that prooves that cigaretter smoking does not cause a health risk. I doubt if anyone has ever published such a thing as that and if they did it was a long time ago and you would be hard pressed to find it in todays society of control freaks. I cannot prove with real science that it does not cause bad health and you cannot prove it does with "real" science. The real answer is "no one knows for sure".
