| Igneous Magma Posts: 465 | The economy vs. the individual The best thing for the economy would be if every person spent every single dollar that they earn. If people start saving their money rather than spending it, the economy slows down, which causes companies to lay people off, which causes people to save even more, etc. The best thing for an individual would be to not spend every single dollar that he earns. If an indivdual spends everything he earns and then he loses his job, he has no way to obtain the things he needs to survive. So which is it? Are we supposed to spend the money we make or are we supposed to save the money we make? |
