I think that most strong men want a woman who is physically attractive. Looks do count for a lot for guys. Unless she is overwhelmingly beautiful, some makeup helps a lot. And, some artificial enhancements don't hurt if nature didn't treat her well (see above comment about Xena), but that may or may not make or break the deal. Most reasonably confident, intelligent, and might I say, masculine men, want a woman who can think for herself, but her thoughts should be in general agreement with the man's. That doesn't mean submissive or accepting of every whim of her "man", but generally of the same "set of mind". And, she has to be able to BE feminine, but doesn't necessarily mean that she can't also be strong. All in all, a real man will be looking for a real woman. One who is intelligent, confident in herself, reasonably attractive and who can respect that man for who he is. Not one who is artifical, superficial and submissive. Nor is he looking for a woman who will direct his life with her overwhelming power. What a real man would look for is a partner to spend his life with. Keith The great thread killer. | |

Just by looking at the link you provided with "butch" posters, I can tell you now that over half of them are potentially attractive purely by gonad instinct. Also, I would find Xena attractive as she is. I can be attracted to women who look more "butch" or "Tom-boy" I am not Homosexual Therefore your argument is kaput. 'Today's American women are so incredibly butch' is not true. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nine Steps and Keith The problem with the things you've said is that they are far too generalized, and furthermore subjective, concepts that you are bringing up. I can offer a flip-side far too easily. Quote:

The fad of what is attractive to the pop culture changes quite frequently. Back in the days of castles, horse carriages and the like, women with small breasts were in among the nobility. So much so that they usually couldn't breast feed when it came time for it and so others did it for them. If the next fad happens to be this thing you call "butch" then so be it. It matters not to me and it changes nothing when it comes to right and wrong actions/thoughts/impulses for men or women besides adding to the pool of subjectivity. You're obviously suffering from a gender identity disorder. I can give you referrals for psychiatrict counseling. Help yourself and get educated and brought to speed. Because of the general dumbing down of today's education, you're unable to even think your way out of paper bag. DSM-IV The current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders has five criteria that must be met before a diagnosis of gender identity disorder (302.85) can be given:[2] There must be evidence of a strong and persistent cross-gender identification. This cross-gender identification must not merely be a desire for any perceived cultural advantages of being the other sex. There must also be evidence of persistent discomfort about one's assigned sex or a sense of inappropriateness in the gender role of that sex. The individual must not have a concurrent physical intersex condition (e.g., androgen insensitivity syndrome or congenital adrenal hyperplasia). |
