Moved as didn't follow the format for Breaking News.

    And yes, a sad loss.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

yes he´s gone to what awaits all of us, but he will be remembered by our generation at least as a man who left this world a better place for his works

Sad tidings indeed. Though I always respect a creator more than a performer, Pavarotti truly was one of the greats of his kind.

    Pavarotti was the Maestro.

I am not opera (and-alike) enthusiast, but I highly value the real Artists (regardless of their profession).

"Redheads are becoming distinct distinct" falls under Breaking News?

    Really?

You have a problem distinguishing what is "Breaking News" , as in the sudden death of a world reknown CLASSIC Opera singer like Pavarotti, vs Redheads are becoming distinct. You think the world will stop, be shocked, be sadened by the loss of perhaps the greatest opera singer and consider THAT news worthwhile knowing or will the world miss readheads more.

Pavarotti was NOT a pop star, but it's apparent you didn;t know that.
Relating him to the corner of Elvis, the Sopranos and DVD discussions is insulting if it weren't so dumb. Pavarotti represented CULTURE.

Now I have expressed my disagreement via private message, but whoever is running this show prefers not to ansWer.

So I leave this forum to the 17 year olds.

I can't stand opera, but I do know greatness when I hear it. The man had one hell of a powerful voice.

But, at age 71, I think he had a hell of a long run, all things considered. Maybe he wasn't a rock star, but he sure as hell LIVED like one.

The person "running this show" has a life and is very busy right now. Five hours is too short a time to expect a reply almost anytime, but now especially.
What MattW was saying is that there's a clear format for breaking news, it's posted right there when you start a thread in that forum. It's not the content (I happen to like opera and agree with your assessment as to the relative importance of this topic as opposed to the redhead thread), it's the format. Any thread that doesn't follow the format gets moved to the appropriate forum based on the content.
I hope that clears up any misunderstanding.

I was just listening to Pavarotti's Romantica CD the other day. So sad indeed.

    Isherwood -

Ah - It's a technicality. It has nothing to do whether it is the greatest breaking news there is. The link to an article is missing, that is what made the Breaking News become an Entertainment issue. You were looking for a cut and paste which wasn't there.

How brilliant is that logic..How did I miss that?

Go to Religion and witness another thread pulled. because it was not a debate. It is a subscription I have with Bishop Spong and there is NEVER a link. That, however does not prevent it from being a debate. The post of the Redheads becoming extinct makes it an abolute Breaking News because it was a cut and paste. Whoever, in his infinite cluelessness thought up this notion?

I have scant patience with stupidity.
