![]() look at the logo on the sole of there boots All three protesters just happened to pick a model of boots identical to those issued to the Suret du Qubec? which purely coincidentally, happens to be standard-issue police kit? also all three have yellow/green paint marks on thier kit or boots

![]() Volcanic Erupter Location: Espaa Posts: 2,610 | The Police would like to use violence against the protesters, so they can win, as the Police always have bigger and better weapons, but they want it to look like the protesters started it off by using police dressed to look like protesters, however if there's no violence they cant win |

| slipping sand Posts: 1,977 | The greatest threat to civil liberty I have seen in recent years in canada!! There needs to be mass outrage at this, public inquiries, people need to resign and be jailed!! I am sure this was an organized attempt to fulfill two possible objectives: 1.) Discredit protesters by creating made-for-tv images of violent, thuggish protesters. This creates a public image that the protesters do not have any valid political point and are simply at the protest because they are riotous hooligans who enjoy violent confrontation. This is extremely effective because the majority of authority loving right wingers are much quicker to anger at protesters for being slightly violent, then they are to anger at riot police for being extremely violent. As we all no today's neo-right wingers respect authority much more then they respect democracy. 2.) The more serious one, is that they were trying to incite violence to give the nearby riot cops an excuse to move in and violently crush the peaceful demonstration. "Agents Provacateurs" are a text-book police state tactic that has gone under the radar for years. Protesters at events such as the g-8 summits etc have been saying for years that undercover police posed as protesters to incite violence. I believe it has been going on since the days of vietnam war protests. It is an extremely worrying tactic because it is so explicitly tied to a police state. This tactic has been used in all major police states to crush civil opposition to the government. It is perfect because the government can appear to be tolerating protests, but they have the perfect excuse to crush them when they suddenly turn violent...The protest is ended, the protesters and their ideas are therefore discredited as they are seen as simple conflict loving hooligans, and no is any the wiser. The truth is the trouble started way before this even happened... The police presence at the montebello protests was disturbing from the very start. Heavily armed riot cops outnumbered protesters GREATLY from the very start. That is not a force there to keep the peace, that is a force there to intimidate people. To scare people away from voicing their democratic right to free speech and protest. What the cops and government did at this summit is a startling reminder of how quickly our nation is slipping into an all our police state. It's also amusing to see the government fall all over itself trying to cover their asses. First they claimed they were not cops at all. Then when they were backed into a corner by the overwhelming evidence, They admitted they were, but said they were simply collecting information, and that they were only outted because they refused to throw rocks along with the rest of the protesters. A hilariously stupid lie because the video clearly shows that they are the only ones holding rocks, and that everyone else is trying to get them to drop the rocks because it is a peaceful protest. Idiots should watch youtube before they stumble all over themselves in half asses lies. In the end, if anything happens, the police will say that the 3 officers acted completely alone and without any orders of any kind, they will be given a week's paid vacation, and the police state will continue to trek right along. |

That is because fundamentally, they condone it. ( As long as it's those mouthy Liberals getting what they deserve. )Now if things were ever to turn around so that their voices were the ones being squelched, well, you can bet they would be singing a different tune.
