It's a free country, they can move. Factory = jobs, jobs trump their fears. But we know that they will win, and the factory won't be built, and people who would benefit from the jobs will be out of luck. What's next? Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

A real no kidding fighting in the streets war between Islam and the west is coming, or we all better get real familiar with the Koran. Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

Tell me, does the Daily Mail mention protests by any other groups? I bet they don't.... I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. If you let Muslims dictate their religious beliefs so that non-Muslims are deprived of rights, e.g. here, deprived of jobs so that Muslim religious sensitivities are not offended, then where do you draw the line? Islam is based on religious lies. Time to expose the lies and stop the religious madness from continuing on in nations where citizens are supposedly educated. |

They don't want to be rained on by "Pork" products. It's not NIMBY it's forcing their religious restrictions on the world. Or have you been seduced by tabloid journalism again, Mr.V? I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. | formerly Isherwood Location: San Diego, CA Posts: 13,741 | How is this any different than a Christian group protesting the opening of an adult book store in their neighborhood. I agree with you, Mr. V, no religious group should be allowed to restrict our freedoms based on their beliefs. To paraphrase ariel, "If you let Muslims, Christians or any other religious group dictate their religious beliefs so that non-Muslims or other non-believers are deprived of rights, e.g. here, deprived of jobs so that Muslim, Christian or other's religious sensitivities are not offended, then where do you draw the line?" Most companies like that as well as resturants are required to install proper filters or locate in unpopulared areas. No one wants to be subjected to 'fall outs' and that is not news. They only made it newsworthy because Muslems are part of the story.

| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | Adult bookstores are a lot different then a pork factory. Nice try though Isherwood. Let's compare! Jobs: Pork Factory: 50+. Adult Bookstore: 5+/-2 Winner! Pork! Clientèle PF: Trucks, trucks and more trucks. Noise, congestion. ABS: Shady people, sexual predators And people that just want porn. Winner: Pork! Crime Rates: PF: Laid off people, homeless, drugs. ABS: Rape and other sex crimes, drugs. Winner: Pork, but only by a snout ![]() So there you go, your comparisons are not valid Isherwood. What about the vendors and suppliers who also will see a profit from a book store? But that aside, you failed to comment on making your advocated policy apply to all religious objections. However, citizens can also protest - it is their constitutional right. In the end, I don't believe that I've ever been near a factory with pork emissions, so I can't speak from experience - but I don't believe it would be that big a deal. Really. |
