Thanks, that was a great movie to watch. Very educational. I also watched "cop watch".

I will qoute one line from the documentary. "If you stop being an idealist you might as well take a gun and shoot out your brains". Tuff talk, but I agree.

I thought it was educational as well. One of the most annoying things is how anarchists are so often portrayed as one-dimensional and delusional people--even naive. They're as complex as anyone, filled with complicated and contradictory lives, battling their own hypocrisies and trying to have decent lives.

To me it's naive to cling to a system that renders people into mindless, destructive machines.

That is a good quote, and I may use it in the future.

The big surprise is I expected a lot of kids with black t shirts and puck rock hair cuts. Instead they were little old ladys and gentlemen dressed like bankers. Not at all like the Sex Pistals who made a song about being anarchists. Plus, the historical film clips was great stuff.

Mainstream TV should air this stuff that I saw on your webpage.

As I watched it seems not so much the governments that were the main problem, but it was the machines and the conspiracy to make humans slaves of that system of machines. eh?

Yes, it is basically against systems that treat people like machines or slaves while depersonalizing them. This basic idea applies quite generally to the world--how the workplace and other oganizations function. It also implies we need to get rid of things like the "illegal immigrant" label, which no doubt regards people as mere entities to be shifted around at the whim of authority figures.

For me, anarchism is simply common sense. I'm not saying I embody the ideas perfectly, but it makes sense to challenge all authority figures and abstract entities, even the ones we may happen to work for to feed ourselves. As the film suggests, anarchist principles (even if they are not always identified as such) are responsible for improvements in how workplaces function and in life generally.

Bah, Idealists suck, cynical bastards get all the fun, it's always us who get the power and the pleasure, not to mention make it harder for you guys to stick to the ideals. If you're an idealist I suggest you'll do the same, because you'll never achieve what you seak, as people like me will always mess it up, if it was possible in the first place. (especially if it's something like world peace, like that'll ever happen).

You seem to entertain yourself by this nonsense. But we're not only talking about "ideals" here, but also basic critical thinking and survival instinct.

There is also a simple principle that can be applied:
If the directions are flawed, if they turn out to be destructive and idiotic--don't enact them. This may mean challenging laws, states, corporate hierarchies, etc. etc. The proverbial shit is hitting the fan around the world, but there are certainly people who have had enough, mostly because they are practical.

All I heard was Idealist, not practicalist (which can coincide, though rarely). I never said practicalists are bad, and I wasn't even talking about a specific ideaology. Plus, real idealists are rare, most will sacrafice what they profess to believe in as soon as it becomes uncomfortable and the are given a way out.
