Message in a bottle to the maestro Dave Mustaine.

precursor to this long thing to read. You should know that I'm a big fan of Dave Mustaine. While I enjoyed the music of The System has Failed more than any Megadeth material since...pfft. I don't know. Lets just say it is one of the best musically. I noticed Dave's analysis of world events was curiously off in different important aspects. The music is joyous and thats what metal is. The track Scorpion aptly describes a lying politician who climbs on to our backs. We pretend we didn't know he is the scorpion. I thought of the scorpion along the lines of symbology and not prophesy of any sort. So anyways I declare that I need to see this person in real life. A real life concert. Ha!

so me and little bro go to US World Bank Arena. :eek:world bank arena to see the maestro. costly tickets and a $7 dollar beer. Well, at least it's Megadeth. Suprisingly good band Machine Head played first. Then Megadeth. He comes out and says something or other about our gov't then goes well.. not my gov't. Yeah, your gov't Dave. Then the meastro proceeds to thrash and sounds good. got another unbelievable guitarplayer with him. Drummer has managed to tastefully incorporate the double kick to old megadeth like I always thought they should. sound is on. He promotes a new album in between songs later in the set (I was interested) then kicked out a couple more songs. He played 10 songs including the encore. Then was Black Sabbath with Dio singing. Figured it'd be worth it to see Iommi. It was a good time I guess and another check off my things to do. The maestro made it short and sweet. but not cheap.

Last week lil bro told me about a megadeth concert at a smaller venue that really tends to bring out the best of the bands who play there. THis will be in the fall.

I wanted to get the new cd before. was looking forward to getting the cd I decided not to pay $20 for last week, this week. I bought the $20 dollar cd, Dave. I got the cd and I'm preparing a statement for your statments on this album. You may have just alienated the some last people who truly care for you. The people who only know you through your music.

I got sidetracked and gotta go to bed now

Tomorrow I will have to type this text on the album jacket, along with the albums lyrics and my recent arenadeth experience, leads me to wonder if Dave has sold out. till then say anything you like about the musical genius Dave Mustaine or music ot anything at all.

I used to like Megadeth, but as you said, I think Dave sold out, or may have always been sold out.

I still like the older 'Deth, but have grown to like classic Metallica much more over time. (Metallicas latest album kind of dissappointed me though.)

Sabbath rocks, as does Ronnie James Dio, must have been awesome!

Here's the inside cover word for word

Quote:
Right now, terrorists have attacked another city.Countrries are taking sides. UN diplomacy has failed. I'm agent Jack Bauer, this is the longest day of my life. The following takes place at the end of days...

Megadeth in the Age of Terror

Over the last several years, we've seen bitter escalation of warfare on a barbaric scale. The proliferation of weapons of mass destruction has made us paranoid and vulnerable. Fear has over shadowed our world, fear of terrorism, fear of one another. World powers are on the edge and forming dangerous alliances against us. As the UN wastes time debating, it seems that all out war may be inevitable. Bureaucrats want results but never want to get their hands dirty. They adhere to their resolutions, expecting the enemy to do the same. Unfortunately, this type of diplomacy is a luxury we can't afford. Through lies and corruption, world delegates have only served to strengthen our enemies.. Because of this failure, we now need to act agressively to counter these threats. We cannot fall victim to our own incaction. We are living in the Age of Terror--and it's time for deeds, not words. To stop the enemy, you have to be forceful, uncompromising and rely on instinct. You have to be resilient, debendable and unstoppable. Extreme times call for extreme actions. This is a war for the end game. It's about survival. You have to do whatever it takes...Like Megadeth.

They know how to get the job done!

Next thing he'll be doing commercials for Ford trucks. He better kick my ass coming up on this small venue tour.

It's just sad...I've been reviewing Dave's history and there's a chance he decided to join 'em. I wonder what happened? Like you said, he may have always been sold out or just a super talented stooge indirectly influenced through a certain gargantuan record company. After Metallica went on without him, I'm pretty sure he was going to do anything to succeed. Think of the motiviation it must take to be an ambitious heroin addict back then. It just...makes me furious! Thanks for listening os.

I believe there's a vast untapped market.

I do too. One of my newest favorite bands is Tool.

I miss the truly good metal with a message, like the earlier Metallica and Megadeth.

I like Tool because they really break all the rules, and they exploit power playing with power lyrics. I am not saying I endorse everything they do, or what they stand for (if you can figure it out, I can't), but they seriously shred and know how to jam.

Give me more Clarence, what are you seeing in that untapped market?

What's your stance on Fugazi then? I think they may be the band with the most longevity that has never sold out.

Metallica did, obviously.

But, I do not really like metal, so sorry if my opinion about Metallica is unwelcome. :)

No sweat, and no offense here.

I like just about all types of music that I know of, to some degree.

Sure. Wikipedia's article on them is pretty good and links to a nice fan site which has streaming audio if you register. I did not see that they have an official website, and the label's site has a list of downloads, though it didn't work for me. (maybe firefox trouble.)

But yeah, they are pretty awesome. If such a form of aggro-politico-ethical music suits your fancy, I'd check out Propagandhi and it's evolution to the Weakerthans. Canadians, though, fyi.

..ahh, this is my old-school. :)

that description makes me cringe for some reason. But I think I'll check it out.
