Old people who retire make job vacancies for new hires, or else are totally obsolete by then. IT is mostly the first. We must have older folks retire, to make "new" jobs. If everyone worked until they died, then how would we create "new" jobs. What, every 50-60 years, they have an opening??? I dont want my grandparents to labor their whole life. They are entitled to be OLD and FEEBLE and enjoy the rest of their life. ...what is left. And you cannot compare farmers of today to farmers of yesterday. It is apples and oranges.
We do expect our elderly to be taken care of. Often they fall victim to greedy children , and scam artists who rob them. Or nursing care, there are a million reasons for elderly to recieve some help. It isnt going to kill anyone to lend a hand, out of MONEY THAT IS TAX AND YOU WILL NEVER EVEN HOLD IN YOUR HAND. IT IS NOT 'YOUR' MONEY IT IS THE GOVERNMENTS MONEY, AND IT DOESNT MATTER OR MAKE YOUR PRESENT LIFE HARDER, GET OVER IT.......MOVE TO CANADA IF YOU HATE IT SO MUCH. GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS COUNTRY IF YOU DONT LIKE TO HELP OTHERS. WE DONT HAVE HOMELESS ELDERLY, AND WE WONT HAVE IT.

This way the labor force pool gets larger and larger, competition among people needing a job gets harsher, and wages go down to the point of slavery. According to free-market mechanisms.

Why not? Sounds like a nice solution to me!

Sounds like a nice solution to me! COMPETITION BRINGS THE BEST IN PRODUCTS AND THE WORST IN RELATIONSHIPS.
