I have a question to ask you all. Why do people care about celebrities lives and why do some people devote their lives to chasing after them?

I for one could care less. I don't watch "celebrity news" or read magazines dovoted to them. The only people who do follow their every move whose motives I can understand are the photographers. As long as there are people fascinated with celebrities, the photographers can make a decent living practicing their trade. Some of those photos sell for a small fortune.

It's beyond me. Perhaps you should ask the people who idolize, chase, and otherwise harrass these people. Personally, I think most celebrities screw their credibility once they open their mouth and speak unscripted lines. There are a few celebrities who make sense when they speak extemporaneously, but very few.

The possible reason for such fascination with famous people is, by looking into the private as well as public lives of celebrities, ordinary people gets a chance to escape their own problems for a short period of time and fantasize what it would be like to live as a celebrity.
