There's a theory going around about Goggle's links with the Goverment(s). I work at an ISP and I've had several customers ask me what I thought about this issue. One customer gave me this link: http://www.google-watch.org/bigbro.html . I'd like to hear your guy's response.

Darpa in disguise, maybe? Who knows. Don't use it. I prefer metacrawler but odds are the CEO is ex CIA or NSA as per usual.

Hmm, there are such things as Verity. They have a long list of clients, the most of which are in government ((list). You don't hear about it because it's "under the hood" kinda stuff.

From what I remember Google used to be a really tiny and crap site that nobody went to, but used clever marketing and a strong team to build it up.

Sorry, but theres no conspiracy, except a bunch of determined computer geeks.

He was probably refering to the Echelon project which was designed to analyse all electronic communication for key words like "bomb" and "explosives"...
