| Igneous Magma Location: New York City Posts: 739 | Evios, Evios, Evios, my but your ass sure does spew forth a lot of hot air. Open a window, would you? "Why don't you leave?," said the suburbanite. Ya know, I'm sure every last person in my neighborhood is thinking the same thing. How about, and this may shock you just a wee bit, but it's because we can't afford to! Yes, of course, I chose to live here because I absolutely love not being able to go to a store after dark. Man do all those locks on my front door make me feel safe; so do the fact that I haven't seen a cop on foot since I got here. You probably don't see cops on the beat, either, but that's because you pay a security service to look after your home for you - and besides, it's not as if anything's within walking distance where you live; that might encourage people to walk there! And who knows who would walk there! I really like it when the people from the 'burbs tell me that they got it just as bad as me when they don't have to lock their doors at night. When they can count the years since the last burglary on their block. When murder happens on the news. Yeah, murder happens. The local high school has metal detectors installed since a girl got raped and killed in the basement two years ago. They're still finding weaponry on the kids - four inch switchblades and boxcutters - and a parked police van is a permanent emplacement down the block. I'm calling your bluff. I say you absolutely love talkin' about shit you don't know about directly, because it justifies your being better armed than me. Well, may your dick find its way up your ass tonight, you stupid fuck, lest my boot get there first. . . . whenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such forms as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. |
